I think Konnan was expected to go full-time with AAA at some point, but this seems pretty sudden. Hopefully LAX will recover -- if TNA doesn't trust either of them with the mic, maybe Hector can turn heel and lead 'em. (I have no idea how Hector is on the mic, either -- anyone?) LAX really deserves more than they've been getting lately, but if TNA has been thinking of them as merely an excuse to get Konnan's promos on air, then it's not going to end well.
Killings is a loss of potential more than anything else. He's been used horribly for a while now, and having him make his return as a virtually unannounced tag partner in a throw-away nothing match is ridiculous and insulting for a two-time champion. (Of course, that choice may have been made because they knew he would probably quit anyway -- but that doesn't excuse the stupid "Black Rambo" movie star stuff they were doing before he got injured.)
Too bad, times two. Konnan on his own isn't so much a loss, but if his leaving drags LAX down it'll be a shame. And Killings, they could have done so much more with.

The loss of Killings is a shame. I still remember his racism angle during the dawn of the TNA era. Say what you will about that angle, but that gave Killings main event heat for the first time in his career, something previously thought impossible after his abysmal "Get Rowdy!" period in WWE. Maybe he'll find his way back to American wrestling someday, but here's hoping he shines south of the border.

There've been rumors of a good number of the TNA roster feeling similarly. The guys that don't get their own lockerrooms and all their transportation paid for anymore.
Aries pretty much wants out of TNA now as well. I'd venture to say a good number of the guys that are under contract and hardly ever on TV (Serotonin) that've been pulled from other promotions because of TNA feel that way as well. If I was Alex Shelley who's been getting screwed over for a long time I'd be pretty fuming mad after getting squashed by Bob Backlund on PPV.
I wish this would send a message to TNA management and Dixie Carter, but it's not.

Speaking of which, what is Kevin Nash's role with the company? Anytime I see him he is doing a short comedy video that really isn't that funny, but I also don't watch weekly so maybe it is funnier if you follow along. Is that all he does now?

Great points on both guys. I couldn't stand Konnan on WCW, but his promos are as good as anyone in the biz right now. I can't believe I said that, but it is true.
Killings original version of the "Truth" character was edgy and different, but they quickly went another direction when he joined 3 Live Crew.
BigDaddyLoco, I think that is all Nash is doing right now, I believe due to injury. I think they are quite funny, but it is probably not for everyone. I always dug Nash on the mic.

Right now, Konnan is to AAA what Jarrett is to TNA. He's already been going going full time (and more) with AAA - TNA was his second job. And if his second job is going to be enhancement talent for people he's not happy with, it's not much of a surprise.
The writing was on the wall when they spent all the time building to a Hector Guerrero/LAX feud, and then Guerrero's team (of random guys who don't team and may not team again) won the first match. But I'm sure what set everything in motion was Konnan's interview with Alex Marvez last week, where he was highly critical of TNA management with how they've dealt with his health issues. It was the same with Killings knee injury.

I haven't been watching TNA long enough to have seen him before Slammiversary (his WWF run with Road Dogg i do remember slightly, but it's all a bit of a blur from markier days), so all i know of his ring work is from a tag match with a non-wrestler, and i thought he looked good even in that. Plus he has a cool name.

Konnan was less dead wood and more the most crucial part of TNA's hottest/only hot act in 2006 via his few promos. His kidney is dead wood, I guess.

That reminds me. Question. Did Nash at any point sing the Happy Slammiversary Baby song this year? |
