Oh man, another big week and me soooo behind - but that all changes NOW. Following this opening spiel are an astonishing 392 items you'll be able to find on Amazon (and other fine places!) for the week-long period starting Tuesday, June 5th. Many fine movies, television series, fine musical releases....and quite a few dogs as well, mostly thanks to Telavista.
For those of you who haven't endured one of these lists before, it works thusly:
Hovering over links should provide you with Amazon's current price.
CLICKING on those links will take you to the Amazon shopping cart with a friendly referral from The W - consider making your purchase through us and it'll place a few coins in our tip jar!
Because Amazon sometimes can't come correct with the information, you will see some exposition from me (or, more likely, a bad joke) in addition to the listing along with IMDb icons (which can be clicked to take you to a movie's IMDb listing) or tv.com icons (which can be clicked to take you to the relevant episode list from tv.com)
All links should open in new windows so you can come right back here after your research! (If you want - we're totally flexible about that!)
Please tell a friend (or vote 'em up Digg/Netscape/&c. with a click of the icon of your choice at the bottom) about this post because it takes me a long time and I'm a big fan of more eyeballs!
Please feel free to add a reply and share your two cents about any of the listings you see here - show off your impressive knowledge, share your opinion about something you've seen, something you're looking forward to seeing, or make your own crappy jokes which are better than mine!
We also hope that if you buy something, you come back and tell us what you thought about it!
If you have something to say but don't want to say it publicly (or register for the board), you can also email me direct at CRZ.DVD@gmail.com!
And away we go! PICK OF THE WEEK: H.O.T.S. (The W at Amazon) (1979) Really one of the high points of "gratuitous tit shot" movies made during the era where you still had to use FILM to make a film - and, get this, most women did NOT have enormous fake boobies! And, hey, widescreen. For some reason, a very special movie to people slightly older than me - or even if you're my age if you happened to find yourself renting the videocassette (then called "T&A Academy" for God knows why). More info at Anchor Bay (anchorbayentertainment.com) - yes, Anchor Bay. Amazingly, this is NOT a Telavista release!
TOTALLY GAY: Desert Hearts (Two-Disc Vintage Collection) (1985) It ain't easy being a lesbian (or even curious) in the desert in the 1950s - second disc tries to hook you with "never before seen footage" of the big love scene - more info at Wolfe Video (wolfevideo.com)
ZOMBIES OF THE WEEK: Toxic Zombies (Bloodeaters - 1980)
WEREWOLF OF THE WEEK: Big Bad Wolf (2006) Holy CRAP Big Bad Wolf Not sure what the difference is between this and above - with the exception of a much less freaky cover
TERENCE HILL OF THE WEEK: Watch Out, We're Mad (Altrimenti ci Arrabbiamo - Italy, 1974) Terence Hill, Bud Spencer take on the mob after they destory their prize dune buggy during a hot dog/beer contest - no, REALLY
MORE FURN FILMS: Missing Victor Pellerin (Rechercher Victor Pellerin - Canada, 2006) Artist burns a fortune in paintings and vanishes from Montreal
The 4 Musketeers (D'Artagnan et les trois mousquetaires - France, 2005) So it's the three musketeers and...somebody else?
God Forgives... I Don't (Dio Perdona... Io No! - Italy, 1967) Terence Hill, Bud Spencer - spaghetti western Loaded Guns (Colpo in Canna - Italy, 1975) Ursula Andress doing what she does best
Meatball Machine (Japan, 2005) That cover is FREAKING ME OUT The Glamorous Life of Sachiko Hanai (Hatsuj Kateikyshi: Sensei No Aijiru - Japan, 2003) "Pink film" anxiously awaited by at least two members of this board, if I recall the thread correctly - Palm Pictures (palmpictures.com)
Pushing Hands (Chi Sub) (Tui Shou - Taiwan, 1992) Directed by Ang Lee - I dunno, I would have put "Ang Lee" somewhere on this Amazon description. You know. If I wanted to try to SELL it.
BEST TAG OF THE WEEK: Street Girls (1975) "Turning tricks before they turn 18"
WOMEN IN PRISON FILM OF THE WEEK: Hell Behind the Bars (Perverse Oltre le Sbarre - Italy, 1984) Leading lady Ajita Wilson used to be a man, but don't let that stop you from enjoying this film!
AND THE REST... Most of these from the 1970s and 1980s are from Telavista and look really awful...but awful in the good way! I think you'll know them when you see them... Obsession (UK, 1949)
Dinah East (1970) Jeremy Stockwell IS Dinah East, who nobody realises is a man until after "she" dies Summer Affair (Il Sole nella pelle - Italy, 1971) Released in the US many years later (the dubbing includes lines rewritten for the disco era) presumably because leading lady Ornella Muti looks great naked - may have inspired "Blue Lagoon!" Seizure! (Canada/USA, 1974) Troy Donahue, Herv Villichaize - Oliver Stone's first feature! Thrill Seekers I believe this is "Quand les Filles Se Dchanent" (France/UK, 1974) Under the Doctor (UK, 1976) French Quarter (1977) High Rolling in a Hot Corvette (Australia, 1977) Toga Party (Pelvis, 1977) That's quite a cover there A Little Night Music (USA/West Germany/Austria, 1978) Elizabeth Taylor, Diana Rigg Cheerleaders' Beach Party (1978) Where's Willie? (1978) Child creates device which can somehow control anything electronic, brings mayhem to town Jaguar Lives (Spain/USA, 1979) The cast list, the fact that it's from 1979 and the cover all combine to tell me that I MUST SEE THIS IMMEDIATELY.
Mama Dracula (France/Italy, 1980) Louise Fletcher IS Mama Dracula - I know, I can't believe it either Senior Trip (made for TV, 1981) Scott Baio in a Quinn Martin production Shocking Africa (Africa Dolce e Selvaggia - Italy, 1982) Yikes - WAY too "mondo" for me, friends Attack of the Super Monsters (direct to video, Japan, 1982) Animated Moving Out (Australia, 1983) In Search of a Golden Sky (1984) - Image Entertainment Scarred (1984) Geez, a lot of "teenage hooker" flicks this week Der Sprinter (West Germany, 1984) What the HECK? The Stand-In (1985) Danny Glover Static (1986) Keith Gordon, Amanda Plummer Helsinki Napoli All Night Long (Finland/Switzerland/West Germany, 1987) Tainted (1988) Shari Shattuck, Park Overall The Islander (Canada, 1988) Not in IMDb? Satan's Storybook (1989) Ginger Lynn Allen - I think this is like two half-movies smushed together into a whole one Paris By Night DVDS (UK, 1989) Charlotte Rampling - Amazon says this one is Region 2, so look out
Alone in the Dark/Afraid of the Dark/Relentless 3/Relentless 4 (1982) Jack Palance, Donald Pleasance, Martin Landau, Dwight Schultz - plus three more: (France/UK, 1991) (1993) (Relentless IV: Ashes to Ashes - 1994) Famke Janssen, really? More info at Image Entertainment Happily Ever After - Snow White's Greatest Adventure (Collector's Edition) (1993) Animated sequel to "Snow White" isn't a Disney film, so all the Disney stuff had to be taken out, such as seven dwarves - but there ARE a lot of kooky celebrity voices! (Irene Cara, Ed Asner, Carol Channing, Dom DeLuise, Phyllis Diller, Sally Kellerman, Malcolm McDowell, Tracey Ullman and of course Zsa Zsa Gabor)
MYSTERY RELEASES FROM CRYSTAL ENTERTAINMENT GROUP: Roswell-Operation UFO I KNEW they were keeping information from us! Such as, what's this title about? Probably similar to this other Crystal release (crystalentertainmentgroup.com) Worlds Greatest Bloopers WARNING: "Greatest" may be hyperbole Great African Safari Chill Factor Visions This one may be an Erik Estrada movie (1996) but the only listing say it's "in Spanish" - Crystal - but maybe this is the English version - who can say - well, Crystal could, if they ever updated their product list Terminal Exposure Sight Matrix
TIMELESS RELEASES OF MYSTERY: Canterville Ghost Timeless doesn't have a listing, so I can't guess which of the 9 versions IMDb gave me it might be Frank Enstein Maybe a kidz cartoon?
TV: CHiPs - The Complete First Season (NBC, 1977-8) Ponch & Jon are some badass motorcycle patrolmen, boy - man, look how empty those LA freeways are! 22 episodes on 6 discs - dig that crazy theme music on the pilot
Come back...very soon for the Top 24 and any last-minute changes I may have just missed - next week we should be back on the Friday tip...maybe...we'll see....
Originally posted by CRZThe 4 Musketeers (D'Artagnan et les trois mousquetaires - France, 2005) So it's the three musketeers and...somebody else?
Keep in mind that in the Three Musketeers, the three are Portos, Athos and Aramis. D'Artagnan starts the movie/book wanting to be a musketeer, but (depending on the version) he usually doesn't get inducted until the end.
Four Musketeers is usually the second movie/book in the series.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is rightfully in the top 5 movies of all time at the IMDB. It's such a fucking awesome movie. Damn, I wish I had $70 to blow.
The Henry Rollins Show: Season One (IFC, 2004-5) 10 hours/episodes on 3 discs
I just got this a week ago (Target had it out early) and it's a real fun show. Rollins has a lot of interesting guests and very very good bands. Also, at Target it's only 20 bucks.
Here's 18 more listings showing release this week!
MOVIES: Shattered Image (The W at Amazon) (1994) another "import" of questionable quality from Castaways - where DO they keep finding Bo Derek movies Enférme Dhors (France, 2006)
Originally posted by CRZI can't believe "H.O.T.S." didn't make it - surely folks aren't going to actually buy bring this up to a cash register in person... ;-)
Says you! I have no shame. I remember spanking to this AND DESERT HEARTS (The lezbo flick...) on Cinemax like two decades ago. I'll admit it. (Shit, THERE'S a mental picture no one asked for.)
You forgot the words 'I won't make fun of', I miss that already.
Ornella Muti, for those who don't know/remember was Mings super hot daughter in FLASH GORDON. She was also voted 'MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN IN THE WORLD' in 1994 by CLASS Magazine. Yeah, she was still hot a decade and a half later.
I remember Candy Samples She had those kind of boobies that swing around in circles...

And yes, I think it's safe to say you're an exception and not the rule.
I could not resist the CHiPs Season 1 WITH FREE FAKE AVIATOR SUNGLASSES package at Best Buy: Click Here (bestbuy.com)
I also picked up the ladder match set, but will probably only get through Disc 1 before it goes into the pile of DVDs I'll watch right after I retire.
This comes after just spending time yesterday reading the Nicholas Courtney obits in the new DR WHO mag. Really puts a damper on season premiere this week.
