I'm unsure what to think of this yet, but I was reading updates about the new book and someone said hey you can get it on certain file sharing places!

Of course I hate waiting so I took a look and sure enough I found word documents with that name that seem to maybe be like a large portion of the book but I have zero clue if it's legit. I can't seem to find info online telling me if it is or not.

Granted I'm still going to buy the book and give the author her deserved money but if this is the real deal I don't know that I could resist reading it. Anyone heard anything about a leak? Seems someone would have had to spend a ton of time if this is fake.

edit: Nevermind. Stupid fanfiction. After about a hundred pages of thinking maybe it was a fake it got to Harry having sex with some random chick.

There are some reaaaaaaaalllly bored people out there with strange imaginations.

Well, I'm glad it is a fake then. In this world of everybody getting entertainment stuff for free from the Torrents and the like, it is good to see that some things can (hopefully) stay hidden until it is time to give the author the money they deserve for their work.

I also stay far away from fanfiction of any sort, because many times it does just devolve into "deviant" behavior if you will. You don't need to know how many instances of Draco/Hermione fanfiction there is on the Net (ugh).

For a few unfortunate months I had a roommate who was VERY into slash HP fanfic. She would read aloud from scenes of Harry and Draco getting it on. Suffice it to say her time in SPF Manor was brief.

I think with books it helps that they are just very hard to get into digital form. While someone slipping a cd out of a recording studio isn't anything worth noticing, someone sneaking out the most anticipated book in the world would probably get attention. So would sitting and scanning 800 pages. While I expect some leaks eventually, I suspect that the actual text will remain pretty well secure until the big night.
