Yes, but it's typical Chuck. He's like this more often than not... I'm surprised there aren't more clips like this out there already. I know I've seen interviews on TV where he was clearly drunk. In this, he looks drugged more than drunk...

The excuse I've read a few times is that he was sick, and heavily medicated on NyQuil.

NyQuil NyQuil Nyquil, we love you, you giant fucking Q.

Liddell just isn't a good spokesman for the sport, sober or otherwise. They should let the man stick to fighting and have guys like Rich Franklin be the poster child. Don't put people in a role they aren't suited for -- stuff like this happens.

I agree. Seeing Franklin on CNN a couple years back was great. However, being UFC's highest paid and most in-demand fighter (and looking the part too), it's understandable why they overlook Chuck's minuses as a spokesperson. He looks a lot more like a fighter than Franklin does.

As a sidenote, Chuck allegedly has pneumonia and was on Nyquil before the interview. On a video interview up on Sherdog right now, Dana White says Chuck's been sick for a while but nobody knew, and that he wants to beat the hell out of whoever the people are that are surrounding Chuck these days.

I think the fact that Rich looks less like a fight should be his strong point.
The UFC has always been fighting the stigma of "we're not just bar room brawlers". Let Franklin, a college grad and former teacher, show that point to the world.

I agree. However, working in the media, I can attest to the fact that most producers would rather put a guy who looks like Liddell or Tank Abbott than a clean-cut and well-spoken guy like Franklin.

But damn, is Franklin ever a great ambassador. It's a true shame that this side of him is under-utilized by the UFC.

Not so sure I'd say that Gatti's too unknown... I'd think he would bring a whole lot of fans to the table thanks to the trilogy with Ward (I'm one of those fans). I'm with RSN on this one, even though I'm not sure he'd get THAT many fans.
