POTG: Kevin Martin [29pts, 4rb, 2st]. Bibby had a pretty good game, Miller has some nice numbers, but Martin owns the Bulls. He's killed them in every recent matchup and they still have no answer. I know they want to put Carmello in the All Star game for Yao or AI or Boozer, but Martin's a scoring machine who'd deserves to go to Las Vegas. You can't leave him at home, that's just not right.
Amazing team defense by the Kings tonight. They gave up 30 more shots, but only 3 more field goals counted; the Bulls ended up shooting 33% and was under that number for large portions of the game. Some may note the insane amount of offense boards the Bulls had and question the Kings rebounding skills, but it was just a byproduct of all those shots.
I know a lot of people are down on the Kings, but I just don't see it. They've got strong personalities on the team, so it was surely going to take longer than normal for everyone to get on the same page, but it looks like they've finally got it together. The Kings are going to be a strong 2nd half team.
Right now, they're on the outside of the playoff picture, but I see them making it. It's an uphill fight, but they're a bunch of scrappy battlers who just won't give up. And look at the teams they're behind
7) Clippers - falling to pieces 8) Denver - Melo and AI haven't worked yet 9) Minnesota - aren't a playoff team, yet again 10) Golden State - unraveling 11) New Orleans - don't have enough talent to overcome their hole 12) Sacramento - dark horse team neither Phoenix nor Dallas would want to play!
Right now, Vegas has the Kings at 150:1 to win it all. If you're not dumping your life savings on them, you're making a bad move.
This was a big topic on Dan Patrick's radio show yesterday. Dan thought it opened the door for a lot of bad things, and the worst of it is, that it's just basically a big bag of nothing. It's not binding, and is all for show.
