Clint taking up TWO slots on the Director ballot is absolute bullshit. Neither FATHERS nor IWO JIMA were great shakes, and taking not one, but two potential nominations away from more deserving guys like Alphonso Cuaron, Paul Greengrass, Darren Aranofsky and Guillermo del Toro is ridiculous.

To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow

One can only pray that Borat wins for either film or actor. I can only imagine the acceptance speech.

Most of these seem to be deserving, but no love for The Shield, or Battlestar Gallactica. Gues I will have to just root for 24, The Office, Borat, and Alec Baldwin.

I have this weird feeling that Cohen's going to end up at the Oscars. BORAT seems to be gathering steam as a critical darling, and a win at the Globes would certainly put him on the Oscar nominee shortlist.

The NBC's Thursday night is so totally awesome.

Ken Kennedy debuted a new finisher: Jeff Hardy fans will insist on calling it the Swanton Bomb, but it looks WAY more devastating when not performed by a 180-pound fruitcake.

Probably Gandolfini's best season (acting wise) but it's overlooked due to Vito hogging all the air time. Boo, Golden Globes.

It's weird seeing movies directed by Clint Eastwood and Mel Gibson up for foreign language awards. I don't care how many nominations Clint takes up, just as long as Scorsese wins (and, more importantly, wins at the Oscars).

The TV acting nominees always make me laugh at the Globes. Of all the people to nominate on Lost, Evangeline Lilly? Really? Sarah Paulson? The guy from Weeds?

Tons of love for "Heroes", "Weeds" and "Borat"? Christ, I've got nothing to complain about.

The lack of a John Krasinski nomination for Supporting Actor hurts my heart, but Alec Baldwin getting the nomination makes me happy.
