|  #1 Posted on 5.10.06 2235.26 | Instant Rating: 9.00 | Really weird but funny episode, and they seem to be giving Michael actual competence over the last couple of weeks, be it as a salesman or in the face of Dwight's treachery, all while doing his Al Pacino tribute act in both scenes, which leads me to beleive that there's more to Movie Monday than just Varsity Blues.
Also, that's two warsims parodied in two nights on TV.

And the rest of the episode was just rare glimpses of Michael being competent, Dwight being disloyal, and Creed being... Well, Creed's always creepy.

That's not too far from how most of my bosses have been during my life - their antics just didn't result in hilarity.
I really liked this episode. It still didn't live up to the premiere, but they're definitely moving things forward at an enjoyable pace.
And Steve Carell was phenomenal.

Also, keep in mind that it's Michael being competant only in comparison to.....Dwight.
I laughed out loud at Jim's reaction to his office wargames. The scene with Chip Eston and Ed Helms screaming at him was hilarious. "Um, a sniper rifle?"
Scene: Mark DeRosa's brain. The year is 2005.

Go watch the deleted scenes -- it's even more of Creed and other good stuff.

Pam always looks really, really good, but Karen is super hot, too. I love how they build up to things on this show. Like Roy always coming upstairs for soda, and Karen/Jim, and Dwight/guy who keeps hating on Jim in Stamford. Those 2 are gonna be working in the same office soon, that should be good stuff right there.
Also, you know who else I love? Stanley. Stanley is a gangsta. He does not care what the F you think. Straight GANGSTA. The only gangsta I know completely obsessed with crossword puzzles, but a gangsta nonetheless.
Furthermore, Angela does a really good job of making me hate her. She's really the only co-worker on the show that reminds me of co-workers I've had (and hated), maybe thats why I'm biased against her. Actually, the lady marrying Bob Vance reminds me a little of some co-workers too, but I didnt hate them.
And finally, I was very impressed with how long Michael kept up his charrade with Dwight, but I was disappointed with how quickly he forgave him. Making him stand on the file cabinet with the "LIAR" sign around his neck was funny, I was just suprised that they were back to being buddy-buddy so fast.

The best part is that movie night worked. It was in watching the Entourage episode 6 times that convinced Michael to use "hug it out bitch" to make up with Dwight. |
