The impressive debut for Zimmy comes on the heels of #1 sales at iTunes, a TV campaign for Apple’s music monster featuring him singing "Someday Baby" from the new album interspersed with the ubiquitous iPod dancer, the debut of his XM Satellite Radio show on AOL and some of the strongest reviews of his fabled career.
Bob besting Jessica Simpson for #1 would have to be considered an amusing upset.
So Friday night, I picked up the new Satriani CD, "Strange Beautiful Music". As you may or may not know, I'm a big Satch fan, so I'm quite biased towards his stuff. But holy F, he's just out-done himself this time.
