For me, stable, nontotalitarian governments in Africa and Asia. If we could end the turmoil, we as a world could help those needing basic human rights and care. I know it sounds like a trite answer. I know you all can do better.

I believe in practical stuff, so if I were choosing on this, yes, things like democracies in asia/africa would be nice, as would the end of hunger in the third world or poverty in our inner cities.

But I consider all of those impossibilities.

a possibility that I consider important and doable is a change in our immigration policy. National security is, in my thoughts, highly compromised by illegal immigration. Many counties, some with much less resources than ours, are able to control their borders and we can do the same. Allow legal immigration of course. I think many (perhaps most) or our Hispanic illegal immigrants are hard workers and would be valuable and important legal immigrants. Legal immigration is important - but until that is re-introduced, I think we have a growing security risk imposed on us by this problem.

We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

The war in Iraq...and why so many people are being killed there, even after "mission accomplished" was declared over two years ago.

That's the biggest thing on my mind right now.

Alternative goddamned energy. I'm tired of playing the oil game.

The little boat gently drifted across the pond exactly the way a bowling ball wouldn't.

Just US wide, changing our energy usage over to renewable sources is the most doable and needed step our country could take.

Worldwide, ending the death penalty in all countries.

An end to globalization and free trade, not going to happen unless something catatrophic occurs. But I'm sick of this country propping up China and India at the expense of everyone around me.

Term Limits at every level of government.

Make the politicians live under the laws they pass after their time in office is done. It's like having a ruling class in this country.
If we have a government that will have to live by the laws they pass, they will be more prudent in the manner in which they govern.

I've got to go with quality, practical education for everyone. At least to the high school level, preferably at a minimum of college. If that happens, a lot of other problems can fall into line and be much less of an issue.

Completely in agreement about the Term Limits. It's supposed to be Public Service, not the Gravy Train. (and if they take any more of our tax money, they'll probably build a LITERAL gravy train out of it.)

The "quality education including college" would be nice, I sure would have benefitted from something like that, but it's not realistically feasible :/

But just to test that one out, any of you more affluent W's out there want to pay to send me to college?

The house that my grandparents lived in when I was growing up was haunted by a little girl. Most of my family has had experiences with her, even some non-family who knew nothing of her did as well.
