Can you believe CRZ forgot to tape one of the greatest Arresteds of all time? What a one to go out on. Out for hopefully only four weeks. I'm dismayed that the Rita storyline has to be interrupted like that (especially since so much of her dialogue is going to be that much funnier on rewatches after the payoff).
But this, this was so spectacular. I was cracking up at Analrapist before they even showed it spelled out, so that was a proud moment for me. All the Forget-Me-Now action, especially the last. And Super Dave joins the rarefied air of Arrested/Curb partipants as Larry Mittleman.
Wow. For the first time in three seasons, I actually turned AD off half-way through. I didn't find any of the first-half funny. Color me a hater of Super Dave on AD. Baio was better than I expected. Only Gob entertained me.
Two things that I noticed after watching the episode a second time and able to see it without laughing myself absolutely insensible.
1. Bob Loblaw saying that "this isn't the first time [he's] replaced Barry Zuckercorn" and besides, he "tends to skew toward younger... juries." I think that by the time this series is out, two more cast members from Happy Days will have guest starred.
2. When Rita is drugged and propped up on the bench by the bust stop, she's sitting right over the "T" on a bench ad for "Wee Britain." With her there, the ad reads, "Wee Brain."

Yes! And when GOB and Lindsay are lying her on the bench, "Wee Britain" reads "rita."
Also, the scene from last week with GOB hiding from Steve Holt in the cage and then offering Tom a vitamin finally makes sense. He was trying to give him a Forget Me Now.

More happy:
1. A guy I was reading on another message board who works for FOX says that the the sales of official AD merchandise (non-DVD division) have been steadily improving. That's something the network really responds to, as it was the combination of merchandise and DVD sales that convinced FOX to rethink Family Guy's cancellation.

So it's on? Oh my. That excites me more than pretty much any other possibility that could arise from the show, more than even the Zach Braff and Ben Stiller guest roles. And the story of how the cast offered to pool their money to fly him over because Fox didn't want to fund it speaks volumes about the dedication of everyone involved with the show.
Speaking of Braff, I read in an interview Ricky did over the summer that one of the original roles he had discussed doing for last season was the spot Zach ended up in as the head of Girls Gone Wild, except he would've played it as an oldtimey smut peddler type instead of Braff's spitting image of Joe Francis. But this year, if it turns out that Gervais is involved with the British conspiracy (FOR BRITISH EYES ONLY), my heart will grow three sizes.
Intriguing choice....I don't think he sunk Whose Line? but that ABC not only ran it every night of the week at one point, and there wasn't enough of a variety of guests.
