Millar sits, Red Sox win. For some reason, it just doesn't seem coincidental. And it was nice to see balls hit towards first and actually think they might be played cleanly. If the middle of the Red Sox order doesn't start producing, it will get late very early. Team record for hits for Boston is 28, set in '50 against the Browns and '03 against the Marlins. They had 27 today. In 2 of those 3 games, Pavano was the opposing starter.
Jeezus that was a horrible outing for the Yankees. The Sox OWNED them today. I am just happy I have the weekend off, since I havent seen any games yet this season, and I get treated to an exciting Yankees win, and a disasterous Yankees loss. Good job Boston. Tommorow nights game should be fun.
Two years in a row the Sox get a quality defensive first baseman. The difference this year is that Olerud's got a legitimately good bat. If Millar doesn't start hitting for power soon, he could be the Jay Payton to Olerud's Trot Nixon. And that sits just fine with me.
"He is the most overrated piece of crap in the league. He bitched and whined after he got his ass beaten in New England last year, so the NFL changed the rules. Then he got his ass beaten in New England again. Every year he's the top MVP candidate. Every year he's supposed to be the best. Every year he's going to carry the Colts to the Super Bowl. And every single year he goes to New England and gets his ass beaten. And his brother's a whiny little bitch." -A friend of mine, on Peyton Manning

Don't be too hard on Stagger, Palp. He got a little excited after the Sox gave away the 1st game.
Still a long season to go. There are 10 more regular season Sox/Yanks games left (7 of them at Fenway).
"Since they filmed the football scenes so tightly (quick edits, no wide shots), there's no way to tell where Sandler ranked on the Realistic Athlete Scale (with Reynolds being a 17-out-of-10 and Tim Robbins being a negative-5). My guess is that Sandler was shaky enough that they masked his "abilities" in post-production, a strategy that Bill Parcells should consider with Drew Bledsoe this season"....from Bill Simmons column reviewing the new and original versions of "The Longest Yard".
These stories never cease to amaze me. I couldnt sue a friend over some shit like this. How can you sue someone over dumb luck? If it was my friends Id sell the ball and wed all take a trip to Vegas or something. Unbelievable.
