Originally posted by TVShowsOnDVD.com It looks like Amazon.com jumped the gun and has put NewsRadio: Seasons 1 & 2 up for sale. The 3 disc set will include the 7 episodes from season 1, and 21 episodes from season 2. The set will be released on May, 24th, and you can place you order with Amazon.com right now. Because Amazon has jumped the gun and put this set for sale before it's been announced by Sony Pictures, there's a chance the title will be removed from their site if the studio pressures them.
We hope to have official specs when the title is announced, but we're told that won't be for another few months. Amazon has artwork for the set, but that was for the previous version of the set (the one that was supposed to be out in Feb, 2004) and it may change.
Roughly a week after my birthday, can't wait.

IIRC, that's what pushed back the release date - it was supposed to be a bare-bones set, but Paul Simms (series creator) heard about the plans, and offered to add some more stuff, as well as commentaries.

| #9 Posted on 15.12.04 0734.28 | Instant Rating: 4.05 | I didn't like the Max character at all. A little too "weird", which was already covered by Matthew. Plus, some of the other characters seemed a bit "off" from how they were played in seasons 1-4, i.e. Dave *hating* Matthew (he was really only annoyed by him previously), Lisa marrying Johnny (I couldn't see Lisa from seaosns 1-4 doing something that outrageous).
I would have liked to have seen them bring in John Larroquette to replace Hartman (I believe it was seriously considered), maybe playing a toned down Dan Fielding type. But I can see how they chose Lovitz, since he was close friends w/ Hartman.

Didn't Lovitz play another character earlier on in the show (the guy who was gonna jump out the window)?
It really bugs me when TV shows bring in a guy two different times to play two different characters.

That usually doesn't bother me too much... unless the characters are opposites on the character spectrum. I know I'm forgetting a few other examples, but the one that really bugged me was Diane Neal on Law & Order: SVU. She had a guest appearance where she played a woman who raped a man then choked her friend to death; then a season or two later, she's the ADA prosecuting rapists and murderers! If she'd played a bereaved wife or something, it wouldn't bother me. But the characters were polar opposites.
With Lovitz, eh, not such a big deal. He played a loon in one episode, then starred as a loon. The characters didn't clash in your mind.
