They're trying to confuse my old feeble mind with their wacky schedule.
All Times Eastern:
Friday: 9 - The Making of Iron Chef America 10 - Flay v. Sakai
Saturday: 9 - Flay v. Sakai (repeat I assume) 10 - Morimoto v. Batali
Sunday: 6 - The Making of Iron Chef America 7 - Flay v. Sakai 8 - Morimoto v. Batali 9 - Morimoto v. Puck 10 - Tag Team Finale
So, if I calculate correctly, there are 5 hours to tape and it's basically the Sunday line-up to get it all at once. Flay/Sakai gets three airings? That must be a helluva trout!

He's already lost two of these things (both times being pretty decisively beaten, as I recall) and came off looking like a huge whiner both times... and that was against Morimoto. Him going against Sakai is like putting Spike Dudley against Robocop riding on a chariot pulled by T-800s. Why not Emeril, or Ming Tsai? Hell, I'd rather see Alton Brown in his spot, and he's not exactly a gourmet chef.
I'm really pumped for the other two, though... does anyone know if they're still going to have Shatner playing the American version of Chairman Kaga?

Actually, Alton Brown is the Hattori of the show, color commentator.
Shantner will not be part of this show.

Well I'll be damned... I had remembered the ending of that one completely wrong. Ouch. Interesting that they made a point, in their first battle, to let Flay's dishes be tasted last so that his heavily-spiced stuff didn't overpower the judges... and then didn't in the second one. I wonder how much impact something like that made on the final judgement?
Edit: No Shatner = a million zillion bonus points! :)

"Finally You Can See Your Meat" (Roy.) Looks like Alton Brown's also play-by-play. I saw in an LJ community about Good Eats that it would mostly be him and a floor reporter.
Nate: Then you throw in the fact that they're in the double bonus for not being on UPN... Also, they're showing the Making Of special, and that's got a very distinct Brown flavor to it. And not just because he's hosting... the show looks like it was done in the same style as Good Eats.
I forget who's the chairman, but I believe he's an actor that's been in a bunch of kung-fu movies. I'm also not thrilled with Flay being there, but I guess he draws. If anyone on the show put my ass in this seat, though, it'd be Brown.

I dunno... maybe it's just the first two times he was on that makes me think that. He just came off as a bit of a douche.
And there's different toothy blond hoes? Don't pay enough attention to their other programming (anything that doesn't involve Iron Chef, Jaime Oliver, or Alton Brown gets filed under "abuse via television" because it's almost all my father watches) to tell the difference.
But yeah, as for the show itself, they need to get a play by play guy. It's almost too much Alton. (Not spoilerized because the replay's over.)

I'm Kim Zimmerman, and I approved this message. Seriously, dudes, I am the biggest Bobby Flay apologist there is, but there is a point in the preview special where that thing is coming straight out at you in 3-D and it is capital-D Disgusting. Oh my God. As a public service, we have been trying to find images online but with no luck. We anxiously await vidcaps. The children need to be informed. RAISE THE ROOF YO

And I wanna know if he picked it up from one of the 'toothy blonde hoes' or has he been down cooking in Brazil (The W)?

Sakai's ice cream dish would have gone over much better in Japan and so would his "gift" presentation of his soup. I'm not a big fan of trout but I would have been happy to eat any of the 10 dishes the two chefs prepared.

I've eaten at MANY asian restaurants where the food 'looked' good enough to be in a museum, and as a hungry american, I can honestly say that I'd rather go somewhere where the food is just slopped on the plate then eat at one where it takes more time to 'place' the food of the plate then prepare it. You're supposed to EAT the food, not stare at it.
