WWE and wrestlers sued over plane flight from hell

The Arizona Republic today reported that World Wrestling Entertainment and wrestlers Scott Hall, Dustin Runnels and Ric Fliehr were sued yesterday by flight attendants from the infamous plane flight from hell in 2002.

The lawsuit alleged Fliehr flashed and forced an attendant to touch his crotch, Hall asked an attendant for oral sex and Runnels grabbed another flight attendant and told her they they were going to have sex. The suit also alleged other wrestlers repeatedly groped flight attendants.

The story is at www.azcentral.com/news/ articles/0330assault30- ON.html.

------------------
WOW. I am shocked that their is actually a lawsuit from this now. Shocking to hear about Flair. I guess he really does like to party. I am guessing the wrestlers had A LOT to drink.

"Moderately surprising," at his age, maybe, but not "shocking." This is some wild stuff. But since two of the guys aren't employed by the company and the other one is 55 years old and, well, to be honest, expendable if this becomes a real big deal, it could be worse.

Dustin Runnels must be really confident in himself.

Okay, I think I was a bit out of the loop with insider news during the time period and only know the basics of the Plane Flight from Hell. All I know is:

--Hennig and Lesnar apparently had a fight that was dangerously close to a flight door..?
--Runnels was very drunk and made ex-wife Terri Runnels uncomfortable by singing a song on the speaker.
--And now this thing with Flair and Hall.
--And wasn't it a rough flight turbulence-wise as well?

Any other information and more importantly, DETAILS, I'm missing?

-Waltman cut off Michael Hayes' ponytail but I believe Waltman claims it wasn't him.

Actually for Ric Flair and Scott Hall, that behaviour sounds rather tame. Flair was just explaining the real meaning of "beating the man". And maybe if the flight attendants were about 20 years old, Hall would have done more then ask.

The only shocking part about it is that Flair behaved that way on a plane. On the ground, I'd believe it completely, but, considering he was in a plane crash I'm a little surprised at this.
And, it took 2 years to file a lawsuit? And, considering the plane was en-route from Europe to the U.S. and most of this occurred over the ocean, what court would have jurisdiction in such a case? I don't know how it could be an Arizona court though.

Why is TVLand stealing my ideas from DEAN's Workrate Report's? They had to be stealing, as I thought I had the only demented mind that could put Bea Arthur and Abe Vigoda in a sex scene.

I fixed your sentence for you.

And redsox, considering he was in a plane crash, he probably goes a little heavy on the bottle to ease his nerves. And we all know where that leads. As for where this lawsuit should be filed, heh. It reminds me of that question, "If a plane crashes on the border Mexico and the US, where will they bury the survivors?" And yes, that is a trick question. You don't bury survivors. Likewise, it doesn't matter where this case is held. It will be thrown out where ever it's held.

A lot of lawsuits are filed around 2 years after their incidents. I know from several personal events. I believe that in some states 2 years is the cutoff point for filing a lawsuit.

The company is based in Arizona, therefore the suit would take place their. I mean, let's say you went on a Safari in Africa, but the company that chartered you is based in Atlanta. Some American guide is negligent and you are nearly killed by a lion. Your suit wouldn't take place in Africa, it would take place in Georgia. Wouldn't it?

This will fizzle out into a huge settlement and fade off into obscurity. WOOOOOO!!!

If they are trying to get money from the airline (which is where the real money could be ), then Arizona is where they'll get it due to them being based there. However, if they are trying to get money out of Flair, Hall (like he has any), or Dustin (if he had any Terri would probably be ahead in line looking for more child support), then I don't know how they would get it in Arizona, as these actions would not have occurred in Arizona. Perhaps as a matter through the FAA they could get it in federal court and try to get Vince as well.

Wow. I knew the plane incident was bad, but I had no idea of the scope of it. I'd heard about the Waltman/Hayes and Lesnar/Hennig incidents, and I think I vaguely remember a WWE female employee alleging sexual harrassment, but Rhodes? Hall? FLAIR? (Well, actually Hall doesn't surprise me, but FLAIR?!?)

This is just awesome stuff.
Yet I don't understand why you all act so shocked Flair would do something like that. It all makes sense..

WOOOOOOOOO! SPACE MOUNTAIN FLYING MILE HIGH! WOOOOOOOOOOO!! YOU! Arouse me? I'm already aroused! WOOOOOOOOOO! The be the woman you gotta beat off the man! WOOOOOOOOOOO!!! First I took your in 78 and now you! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Seriously, it does make the WWE look bad, very bad despite the fact that similar events happen on a daily basis in the sky I am sure.

What intrigues me is the thought that while this was going on, Vince/Steph and such were in the front of the plane I believe? Wouldn't you barge in?
ALthough I can imagine the Mr. McMahon char to stand there look at Flair and then join in, since he has to prove he has the bigger grapefruits

If I remember right, I don't think any McMahon was on the flight. I think Jim Ross was and maybe another high ranking guy.

According to 411, "The suit claims that Flair wore only a jeweled cape during the flight."

If I recall I think Vince at least was on the flight and interjected once the incident started to escalate. The fact that Vince had had a little tumble with Kurt on a plane about a year or so prior though rather dented his effect (CREDIT: The Torch? I think so anyways. It was a while back.

But incidentally

Yeah I know alot of lawsuits happen two years after the fact, but if these people was so terrified and traumatized by this flight, why wait so long?

I'm willing to bet all of these stewardesses, were giggling in the woman's bathroom after the whole thing went down, and had no clue who these men were. Then, happened to flip on RAW one night, saw flair, and it dawned on them they could get there face in the papers and a few mill in the pockets.

Kinda like the guy who won powerball in West Virgina a year ago, oh, now he worth 160 million, every woman who worked for him remembers him slapping their ass, and it all of a sudden became oh so traumatizing.

What, no "Gator" Scott Hall?
Starship Frickin' Coyote?!? Are you kidding me? Would someone hear Scott Hall and think "Who's that?" and then hear Starship Coyote and go "OHHHH! That little SOB!!"?

Can you imagine the filing for a suit against Ed Leslie? Thing is probably 500 pages long.

Oh man, thanks CRZ. That was hilarious to see.

Can someone explain to me why Mrs. Flair, Mrs. Rhodes and Mrs. Scott Hall are also named in this thing?

Come to think of it are Rhodes and Hall even married? (No, not to each other before i step in that joke.)

#13 confuses me:

"In or about 2002, Defendant WWE created two separate entities, Raw and Smackdown. Upon information and belief, Defendant Flair has an ownership in Raw and in Defendant WWE."

I'm not up on my legalese, but does this mean they are claiming that Flair's storyline ownership was a real ownership? That seems odd.

Of course, so does a "spinning" penis.

I think that's a pretty standard legal tactic to prevent a man (or woman) to have his/her spouse shown legally as having all of the family assets while they have none, keeping them from claiming to be able to pay at the end of the trial. When Mrs JJD sued the woman she was involved in a car accident with, the filing had a similar Mr. John Doe Smith notation in the Defendant column, even though he wasn't in the accident himself.
