Are you the same CRZ who worked with www.wrestleline.com? It got me to thinking of all the old school internet writers who haven't been active in years. Didn't Rick Scaia run www.wrestleline.com? He used to do one of the first big wrestling websites (anyone remember News From Dayton?). Do you know whatever happened to Mike Micasa, and Al Issacs from scoopswrestling.com? I remember that was THEE website to look for news back in 1997 (along with 411, Bagpipe report, etc)

He's the guy. The Rick morphed into Online onslaught http://www.onlineonslaught.com/, but as far as I know he's still in Dayton. Mike Samuda, I haven't heard anything about in awhile - I assume he's lawyering somewhere and actually making money. Isaacs has some sort of cartoon wrestling world at http://www.smarks.tv/home.html
Kind of like the Dread Pirate Roberts there is a new CRZ every few years. "This" CRZ is actually CRZ IX. The CRZ you are thinking of(CRZ III to be exact)is managing a bowling alley somewhere. There are no real monetary perks to being CRZ.

Baffled and confused and amused by this statement. Mostly amused. I have also been drinking. I am interested though' if this theory is correct what does it take exactly to obtain the status of "CRZ"?

Well, having wrestled under the name "Marty Jannetty" and teaming with Shawn Michaels for 10 years is an obvious prerequisite.

Triple H is like fine wine, his grace and talents accented gracefully by his advancing years. Ah, yes, just like fine wine; that or those triple chedder nachos I forgot in the back of my fridge for three months.

Yeah, Wrestleline. What the hell every happened to that deal? That was a nice bunch of writers, very balanced. I've seen them scattered on different websites, with CRZ being here of course. But what happened to the site? Did someone just pull the plug on it, or did something happen that led to its dissolution?
I think CBS Sports owned it, and closed the doors on it back in 2000. It wasn't really so much an insider site. The coolest articles were from Mike Micasa and The Rick says article.

I left them in June 2001 and then SportsLine shut down the site four months later.
(Some would tell you that's just coincidence, though)

There's a question I've always wanted to ask you, and I guess now's a good a time as any, I'd guess.
It's been almost two years since you've promised an update to the slash "sometime after Thanksgiving-MAYBE". So it's fair to assume that a lot of the newer users know you as "CRZ, the message board guy" as opposed to "CRZ, the recapper guy".
If there was such a thing as a "legacy" when it comes to the Internet, would you rather your legacy be this message board, or your recaps?

Yeah, twas a fine website. I haven't heard of Micasa or The Rick recently, and CRZ quit writing Raw reports on me. Now where was I supposed to get witty names for the new wrestlers? You ever think of that, CRZ? Well, necessity led me to read Scott Keith, and I got hooked onto that. You haven't read a real Raw report if you haven't read Keith's stuff, where only good and deserving matches get **** ratings. Check out 411mania/wrestling for the SmarK rants. Enough of me, though. Peace.

I can answer this one. Few people know this, but I was CRZ VII! Yes, it's true. It was the strangest thing. I was surfing the Internet late one night when I received an email from "The Watchers." They informed me that the former CRZ had died and I had been selected as the successor. The selection process had something to do with my excessive summoning of Mordenkaiden's Faithful Hound in 1995 and my skill with FTP programs. "The Watchers" gave me no choice, only told me that the mantle of CRZ would rest on my shoulders until they deemed it best to remove it. A few months after my calling, I was abruptly informed (this time by a screwdriver jammed in the hood of my car with a note attached) that the title had been passed. To be honest, it was a relief. Like the Dread Pirate Roberts, I was ready to melt back into obscurity. I don't think "The Watchers" approved of me. I was never Marty Jannetty. That's what did me in, I'm sure of it.

While I used to enjoy the CRZ recaps on wrestleline, I now have DEAN here to look forward to every Friday morning.
As an added bonus, CRZ posts often enough here and is way funnier, in smaller, more powerful doses.
God bless you, Mr. and Mrs. CRZ, hope you both live happily ever after.
And if there is a CRZ Jr. ever in your future, will he be a wiener, or will he be BANNED?
I'd think that if Chris & Kim have a little one, they'd be smart enough not to give him the initials C.R. Maybe they'll give him WACKY initials, like PEZ. Anyone? Anyone?
