So I've read all sorts of rumors and such stating the Van Halen is set to reunite with Sammy Hagar sometime this year. Warner Brothers has already stated that a VH Best Of Volume 2 is slated to be released this fall.
Just last night the radio station here played audio of Jeff Keith from Tesla talking about possibly opening for a VH tour this summer, but a few minutes later, then the DJ went on and on about how a "reputable source" gave him a call off the air and told him it definitely isn't happening.
Then again, there have been "Oh my god, Van Halen's gettin' back together" for years, and I'm guessing this is just the latest one. Personally, I don't think this could ever happen. I'm not sure what Eddie's health is like right now, but his ego probably would be the biggest roadblock to a reunion. It probably wouldn't happen with Roth because, well, he's gone insane.
When I was young Lou Reed both during and after his Velvet Underground days was constantly either on my turntable (and later cassette and CD) or in my head. Songs that exposed all aspects of life and often in a weird way celebrated it.
