Should the WWF can Lawler for Miller on Monday night RAW?

Its a poll Ques popping up on some websites though I feel if Miller can't handle football then he will not be able to call a wrestling match.

I wonder if Dennis would place any Ed "Strangler" Lewis
references in his commentary.

JR: Bradshaw needs to make the tag to Farooq.
DM: You're right, he needs to stop playing Ricky Morton and make the tag.
JR: HELLFIRE AND BRIMSTONE!!!!!!

Has Dennis Miller ever expressed internet in pro wrestling on any level? I'd say that if the chance came along, I would resist the urge snatch him up. Putting him on RAW would be dumb, as not only are they not the primary show anymore, but Lawler would get pissed off at being seperated from Ross. Now, replacing Lawler on Smackdown is another possibility. But would Miller and Cole really work at all? I mean, I'm one of the few Cole fans out there, but hell, Dan Fouts is more exciting than him, and Miller couldn't carry him. Nor vice-versa.

Given the way a certain word is chanted continually in today's WWF, Miller would be a _natural_.

Miller: Wow, Jericho just absorbed a brutal chairshot. I haven't seen a chairman inflict that kind of damage since Mao organized the Red Guard units.

JR: What?

Miller: Stephanie's trying to rally him, but she knows that Jericho's in serious trouble here. Her hopes are about as high and realistic as the Committee to Elect Harold Stassen's.

JR: What?

Stephanie: What?

Jericho: What?

Miller: Austin continuing to press his advantage, stomping away, Jericho helplessly twitching on the mat. In the words of James Joyce --

JR: What?

Jericho: What?

Stephanie: What?

Austin: WHAT?

(repeat until Austin starts throwing beer cans at Miller)

I think Dickerson could possibly replace Coach on Smackdown, Maybe Miller For Excess because nobody watches

vsp is right. Miller's joke level is too far above the IQ of the average wrestling fan. Not that I'm cynical or anything.
Besides, the odds that Miller would end up in wrestling aren't high in the first place... not sure if I get the point on speculating about it.

Yeah Miller is above everyone but members of Mensa, so unless there are lots of Raw fans who happen to be Mensa members, this wont work.

Just think, JR and Miller could see who could out-confuse the fans the most in a two hour period.

I doubt Dennis would think of wrestling as more than ignorant redneck crap.

His experience with football will prepare him well for it, then. All he needs now is a couple of years working the NASCAR circuit. ;)

Football isn't a redneck sport.

CAN SOMEONE TELL ME..if the ASPCA knows about these Government Mules that JR refers to. Apparently, these poor animals are subjected to awful beatings that are akin to being thrown into steel steps or having their heads smashed against wooden announce tables.br>

If he were a fan of wrestling and knew something about it, I'd say it was worth a try. But I think he would probably be too much of a loose cannon for Vince to put him on TV.

Doubt it would happen anyway--it would cause him to lose status with the elitist types.

I don't really care for him myself. He's funny sometimes, but usually it's just a bunch of obscure references disguised as comedy. I never heard his football announcing so I don't know how well he did--though I agree with Howard Cosell that it's better to have intelligent articulate people up there than a bunch of ex-jocks.

> Football isn't a redneck sport.

Sez you. Obviously, you've never been to an Eagles game.

I can drive into town on any game day and watch thousands of grown men drink massive quantities of beer in the parking lot, enter the stadium and drink MORE watered-down beer, chant, scream and throw things from the upper deck, beat the living hell out of anyone who dares to cheer the visiting team or wear their colors, and cheer on 300-pound guys from Nebraska slamming into each other. That qualifies to me as a Certified Redneck Activity.

For all the grandeur and seriousness some try to paint football with, there are fifty Terry Bradshaws or Jerry Glanvilles associated with it for every John Facenda.

Nope. At WMI - it was old school cameras, the one side and a corner camera. That was only closed circuit, no PPV on TV. And I was way back by the stands. I mean, there were empty seats, so, like, no one knew it was going to be a thing.
