Veteran B-Movie and Film Noir heavy Lawrence Tierney passed away Tuesday. He was 82.

While he will be remembered for his work in the 40s and 50s, popular culture youngsters will recognize him as the old leader of the gang in Reservoir Dogs. He's the guy "that looks like the Thing."

He was also in an episode of the Simpsons. When Barts steals a videogame from a store, Tierney played the store detective.

Here's something that I forgot, shamefully here on the CRZ board.

Lawrence Tierney was in the TNG homage to the Big Sleep. He played the Sydney Greenstreet knockoff Cyrus Redblock.

"Will you SHUT UP? I haven't written a word in a year -nothing I haven't thrown out in years! Do you know what that's like? When it's just you and a blank sheet of paper? When you can't think of a SINGLE thing worth saying, a single character that people could believe in, a single story that hasn't been told a thousand times before!" -- Richard Modoc, "Calliope," Sandman 17, Neil Gaiman.

Try 'N Save Store Detective Don Brodka, that's right, Don Brodka.

"Capiche? Well, do you understand?"
"Everything except 'capiche.'"

Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?

A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"

He was also Elaine's father in an early season episode of Seinfeld. "You're a comedian? We had a funny guy with us back in the war. Tailgunner. Got his brains blown out over the Pacific. Nuthin' funny about that."

Hey, I said I was the oldest poster on here. Now cut an old codger some slack, will ya? I got some bendy wrestlers for my birthday, too - Austin, Kane, Undertaker and Rocky Maivia (yup, Rocky Maivia).
