Just found out today, it's against Corrie Sanders. Now just by looking on paper, Sander is another tomato can. But if you saw what he did to Wladimir Klitschko, you know he hits like a truck. Because of that, to me this fight is more intriguing than the one with Ruiz. If Sanders brings it like he did with Klitschko, I do believe "Superman" may be decapitated.

Great...we can now unify the WBO title into something more meaningful.
If we could convince Lewis to fight Byrd, we could unify the four titles within a year.

I hope I'm thinking of the right guy, fast but light. Quick hands but no power, more of a super-cruiser than a real heavyweight. I think Lewis could eat him alive if he had, to but fact is he doesn't. Lewis doesn't want to go after anyone, he's in the position where he can pick if and when he wants fight and no one really stands out as a truly legitimate contender or big payday.
Chris Byrd has no chance against Lewis. Byrd/Toney would be a good fight though. So would Byrd/Jones. Byrd/Lewis would draw no money, even if it was for a title unification.
Lewis a coward? Name me one guy he's ducked in his entire career.

Jones/Tyson is the match I want to see. No matter how much trouble Mike gets into, him and Roy Jr. are the biggest draws. And the most interesting matchup.

If you have a time machine handy and can transport Jones back to 1990 ish when Tyson couild actually box.
Sorry guys, it appears that RJ is not going to fight Sanders after all. I hate misinformation.
On a side note, this past weekend's fight night was pretty good. Anyone see my boy Popo turn the lights out on that ass in the 12th round? That guy Barrios was all heart though, he may have won had he survived that round.

Not only was the Barrios/Freitas fight very good (and after seeing it I want Casamayor vs. Freitas in Miami...it could get bloody), but how about the fight before that one? That was one of the best 4 round fights you're going to see anytime soon. The third round of that fight ought to be listed in the Top 5 rounds of the year IMO.
According to the reports, the fight was on the table going into the 12th. One judge had it even, one had Freitas ahead, and one had Barrios ahead.
What a right hand by Popo! I can't remember the last time I saw a guy get blasted at the end of a round and still be messed up after a minute in the corner. Just a huge shot. I expected a better performance by Freitas going in, but he sure seemed rusty.
Reid-Ortiz on the undercard was an incredible fight, on a Gatti-Ward/Hagler-Hearns level of excitement for 4 rounds. What a run of great fights lately.
Al Bernstein is a HUGE improvement over Bobby Czyz on the Showtime coverage as well. I'm happy he'll be doing Holyfield/Toney in October.
Also, after Roy's comments after the fight, all I want to see is his imminent destruction of Antonio Tarver. I like Tarver, but Jones was in that "I just got screwed over by Montell Griffin" mind-set when talking about him. If he's truly ticked off at him (and he said it was personal) I'll take Roy by KO in one. I was fired up when I saw Jones was fighting Sanders, however, and would love to see that fight as well.

I really have no interest in Tarver/Jones. Jones is so far ahead of the other 175 lb. fighters at this point, it's not even funny. If he wants to fight someone smaller than Lewis or Tyson, let him go after Toney after Toney beats Holyfield.
I'll second spf in saying that Roy stepping back down to face Tarver would be a mistake. It wouldn't do much on PPV, since the impression is that Jones is just taking care of a tomatocan with his belts, and then if Roy goes back to heavyweight, then he'll have to forfeit the titles again and the situation will repeat itself. If Jones is going to be a heavyweight, he'll have to stay heavyweight and not keep yo-yoing his weight.
Roy Jones vs. Antonio Tarver has no appeal to me. He's dominated every 175 lb. fighter for a decade. He should stay at heavyweight and fight Corrie Sanders, which would be an exciting fight with Sanders coming off his KO of Klitschko.
However...
Roy Jones vs. Anyone who he is genuinely pissed off at and motivated to destroy would get me more fired up than a fight against Sanders. If it happens to be Tarver, that's ok with me. Tarver is the #2 (#1 if you leave Roy out) 175-lb. fighter in the world, and it would be exciting (and further legitimize Roy's greatness) to see Roy fired up to get a quick KO (a la Montell Griffin). The way Roy got emotional about a Tarver fight, saying it was personal and not about money or business, got ME fired up to see Roy kill Tarver, because I enjoy seeing elite athletes take on challenges, real or perceived.

So, I've been on the fence about getting the GGW PPV tonight. I have a few buddies coming by to watch SD! and they've been bugging me about getting the show afterwards. I checked the InDemand site and find out it's only a 90 minute show for $19.95!
