Strange that the salary cap/luzury tax is making a large salary coming off the cap as valuable as a good (albeit somewhat selfish) player (Glenn Robinson) | Whitebacon

This is a bad deal for the Sixers. As much as I do not like Van Horn, they now have a logjam at 3 with Robinson and Thomas, both 6'7" and nobody of any value at 4 or 5.

| #5 Posted on 23.7.03 1056.49 | At last, my Woofies don't COMPLETELY frustrate me. It looks like they're going to make a serious run at the second round and keeping KG around for the long term. They might almost have too many scorers, but as in the case of the Lakers, it's a Good Problem To Have. If this team can jell, they're going to be a threat in the West.
AOL/TW are trying to ditch the Hawks, so picking up Brandon's contract will help the team's value in the short term. I don't see that team doing anything to get better until the team is sold. And the glorious Glenn Robinson era in Atlanta ends with a THUD.

What are you saying? We have DC at the 5 and Glen Dog will play the 4 while Thomas plays the 3. Now I know that DC and Robinson have a bit of dog in them but they are not as bad as Van Horn. Its a good trade. | JWstorm

| #8 Posted on 23.7.03 2224.22 | i've always believed that the sixers needed a good defensive rebounder/inside scorer (Robinson) instead of a 2nd shooter. just let Iverson run wild, and have a couple of big guysaround to pick up rebounds if AI has an off night.

I like it a lot better now that they have Jackson. But it still bothers me that the Sixers put all that money into Thomas and he will now be relegated to the second guy off the bench.

You know the Knicks got the worst of the deal because Layden wants all the ex-Utah players. I'd rather have every other big name thrown around: Big Dog, Sprewell, Brad Miller. Van Horn needs to stop player so soft. He can't live off his potential forever. | Whitebacon

So you're saying you'd rather have Terrell Brandon? Even if it wasn't for his contract coming off the books at the end of the year, I think that woulda been a better choice, no?
