| #1 Posted on 9.5.03 1114.51 | Instant Rating: 2.74 | So last night after work I was really bored, right and after just getting paid, I felt the need to go spend some money, so I ended up at Walmart at 1am. I'm walking around the toy isles and the first great find for the night was every new He-Man figure repackaged and priced at $6.99 WITH a video. $6.99!!! Weren't these priced at $8.99 or $9.99 just a month ago. I even got Merman and Trapjaw... too cool for words.
Next, I made my way over to the electronics section, here was where the real treasures were. There was this huge bin of DVDs for $5.88 each, here's the list of what I got...
Jeepers Creepers Nightmare on Elm Street 2 Nightmare on Elm Street 3 Friday the 13th Friday the 13th 6: Jason Lives Halloween III: Season of the Witch Hellraiser II: Hellbound Rambo: First Blood Part 2 Rambo III The Beast Red Scorpion Red Dawn Lost Boys Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation Bram Stoker's Dracula Blue Thunder
... I ended up spending over $120 but DAMN it was worth it. Does Walmarts in other states have these DVDs marked down THAT cheap? I'm curious cause I'm supposed to be going to New Orleans in a few weeks and wondering if it's worth it to find a Walmart there.

This is simply a reminder of the fantastic hypocrisy of many in Hollywood. They conflate robust criticism with censorship; they equate popular boycotts with government blacklists; they claim to be persecuted, while actually they have an amazing capacity to reach audiences other political activists can only dream of. And yet, when the slightest criticism directly affects them, they do all they can to shut dissent down. Instructive, isn't it? Industry honchoes who wouldn't have jobs without the right to free expression are only too eager to squash it when that speech dares to criticize them- Andrew Sullivan

As long as you have a receipt. I saw a guy try to do this with an ice chest that he bought out of state - he didn't have any of the packaging (wonder why - oh yeah - cause he was using it as a cooler for the whole trip) and they wouldn't do it.
I was actually glad, because all of the people in the line had figured out what was up by the time the guy got to the front of the line. Hint: Sober up before returning a cooler that has been used.

| #13 Posted on 9.5.03 2229.46 | I don't shop at Wal-Mart anymore since most of stuff that I go to Wal-Mart for is music or movies and sometimes cloths and I don't really want censored music. Besides, K-Mart has all that and is just down the street from me and with them going Chapter 11 everything is always cheap.
Plus, why buy Jeepers Creepers? That movie was horrible! I thought Children of the Corn was bad but it was awesome after seeing Jeepers.

| #14 Posted on 9.5.03 2256.22 | Just read the details on the box before you buy. When I was looking at the $5.88 bin at Wal-Mart just after Christmas, the few titles they had I'd be interested in were all full-frame, no-feature sets. That's not important to some, it is to others. Of course, the ones in the $5.88 bin at that time didn't include the titles in the Cerebrus list. I might have to check out my local Wally World to see if "Lost Boys" is in there.

They also had Caddyshack 2 and Cannonball Run that I was gonna get, but they were both NOT Widescreen so I said "Fuck that noise!"
Jeepers Creepers was fucking awesome! You people are insane; and Halloween III wasn't all that bad with the kids getting killed and the bugs crawling out of the masks. It's only real problem was that it WASN'T a Halloween movie, they should have just used it's original title (Season of the Witch) without tacking on the 'Halloween' to it. They thought it would make more money that way.

| #16 Posted on 10.5.03 1710.21 | Dude, the only way someone can think Jeepers Creepers was an awesome movie is the either be mentally challenged, and/or be a Fangoria fanatic, and/or be a Satanist. The movie was horrible on so many levels that my wife, my brother-in-law and I are *constantly* going around making fun of it. Saying "JEEPERS, CREEPERS" in a really high, annoying, singing tone has become part of our language. IN fact I still can't believe I actually watched it.
Honestly, it has to be one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Buckaroo Bonzai, I believe, was at least not trying to be serious. Jeepers Creepers was.

I went to Wal-Mart today and shopped the $5.88 bin as well. The only thing I picked up was a two disc Three Stooges set. There seemed to be alot of Ernest Goes to Camp and Cabin Boy available at this particular Wal-Mart, though.

| #18 Posted on 10.5.03 2141.40 | Trust me, not all Walmarts are as good as yours. I worked at a brand new Super Walmart (second largest in the world to be exact) for about a year last year and it didn't have jack squat. In the toys section they had only the really popular wrestling action figures (The Rock, Stone Cold, etc). They had NO He-Man action figures ever the whole time I worked there. I also collect the McFarlane toys and they always had the same 2 or 3. So I did most of my action figure shopping at a Target that took about 30 minutes to drive to rather than the Walmart about 5 minutes away. I did get most of my DVD collection at Walmart but only because I got a store discount on full price DVDs. The only thing i've ever gotten out of the on sale bin is Ghostbusters which was only about 5 bucks. I do find myself buying groceries there a lot though since it's open all night when only I dec

My friends and I treat Jeepers Creepers the way DMC does. We watched it and hated almost every minute of it. The ending is unbelievably bad, and the rest is no picnic. They squandered an interesting premise and first act with the most retarded storytelling ever.
That being said, the first Friday the 13'th for 5.88? Where do I sign up?
