I was listening to the radio this morning, and the DJ's were taking calls from listeners who were to name actors and actresses who they believe have never been in a bad movie. What wrestlers can you think of that you believe have never had the misfortune of being in a bad angle or gimmick? Limit it to wrestlers who have been in the business for at least a few years. You can dispute any of the responses you see if you like. Here's a couple I've thought of:

Kurt Angle - "Angle For Abstinence" is a tough call. Kurt acquitted himself well, but the angle (no pun intended) was poorly written and fizzled pretty quickly. Other than that, I can't think of anything that Angle has been involved in that didn't kick ass.

Chris Benoit - Basically made a career and gimmick of just being a guy who kicks people's ass. Anybody who can feud with Kevin Sullivan and still look good can look good doing anything.

Brock Lesnar....oh yeah, few years, right

Er....I can't recall Ted DiBiase ever really being involved in any "bad" angles....unless you count the Hebner twins thing....

.....crap, this is hard

Barry Horowitz. How can you go wrong?

But seriously, I'm gonna say Randy Savage. I know that's going out on a limb but even the lame stuff he may have got stuck with (Macho King vs. Dusty Rhodes with Saphhhhhire!!) was still golden because he was just that sweet.

I dunno, Savage could just do no wrong in my eyes.

I can't think of anything too bad for HBK, unless NWO2002 counts(and he was only involved in that for a few months.)

Don't forget the Benoit/Angle bit with the swiped medals. If the performers weren't so solid, that would have blown on toast. Even so, the medals down Benoit's tights made that a close call.

How about Chavo? Even Wacko Chavo wasn't bad, Pepe ~OWNED! Cheat to Win, the WCW Eddy feud...

There was one stinker that Chavo was involved in: Chavo as Lieutenant Loco with the Misfits in Action.

RVD? Okay, he was part of the Invasion, but his own angle in that -- as holder of the hardcore belt -- was actually decent and got him over.

"next to of course god america i
love you land of the pilgrims' and so forth oh
say can you see by the dawn's early my

and are no more what of it we should worry

thy sons acclaim your glorious name by gorry
by jingo by gee by gosh by gum
why talk of beauty what could be more beaut-

who rushed like lions to the roaring slaughter
they did not stop to think they died instead
then shall the voice of liberty be mute?"

Managing Xanta Klaus I think DQ's Mr. DiBiase, as much as I hate to say it.

I think HBK and RVD are the closest ones to pretty much avoiding Wrestlecrap through their careers, though I'm not familiar with RVD's work in ECW.

How about Bret Hart? Would the racism feud with the NoD and the silver and black nWo keep him out of this list?

I loved that angle. Just because I liked how heel Jake switched to the cobra instead of the boa constrictor. And hey man, a cobra bite... that's pretty devious. I love how they covered up the actual bite on tv. Wasn't it some sort of red "X" or something?

The thing with Savage was that even with his weaker angles, it never really hurt him cause he was Randy Savage and by the time he had a shitty angle (Hummer) he was pretty much bigger than said angle. And he never got saddled with something so ridiculous that he couldn't transcend that (unlike Ricky Steamboat and and stupid Dragon gimmick during his last WWF stint).

I've tried to block it out of my memory , but I seem to recall something about Savage, Rodman and a port-a-potty...

yeah that is 'stacked'. It seems like the last few months they've had a least one or two guys who are getting a push on the show. Usually it's in the ME with a star beating a JTTS. I think everybody except for Eddy has been on Velocity lately.
