| #1 Posted on 9.10.02 0739.11 | The preview for tonight's TNA card has announced that a surprise "Former World Champion" will take the place of Scott Hall in the main event six-man. I have heard names like Steiner, Goldberg, even STING thrown about, but there is NO way in hell that the Jarretts have the $$$ to procure their services.
So that leaves me with the thought, that if TNA recognizes ECW's legacy of heavyweight champions as "World" title holders, then it leaves me thinking of one man, and that is the recently released Mike Awesome. I don't THINK that the last cuts (Awesome, Meat and the like) have a no-compete clause, although I would have NO idea whether thy do or not.
Thoughts?
"So this is the Pacific Northwest, huh? What a dump," said Angle, "Why do we have to come to Seattle? If it wasn't for Kurt Cobain and 'Frasier,' nobody outside this rain forest would even know who you people are."

Maybe Shane Douglas shut the hell up about Francine and he's going to be the guy.
For that matter, what's Bigelow doing about now?

| #4 Posted on 9.10.02 1058.18 | I seem to remember the press release saying that Syxx-Pac and James "called a good friend" or something to that effect. I guess that really doesn't mean anything, but I think they're trying to make you believe that it's someone bigger than it probably will be. On a related note, does anyone actually know what the hell happened to Scott Hall? Is he battling demons again? AUSTIN WAS RIGHT! VINCE WAS WRONG! Sorry, wrong thread(s)...

He's off in training for an Ultimate Fight next month, so I doubt he would return for one night.

| #14 Posted on 9.10.02 1505.41 | I just read on the Observer that the champ that they are referring to "has never appeared on NWA TNA", so I'm wrong. Definitely not Shamrock.
Personally, I hope it is Awesome. TNA is the arena for him. He's bigger than most everyone else in the promotion and will have plenty of people to bump for his moves, which is what got him over in ECW.

| #15 Posted on 9.10.02 1826.39 | I agree that awesome would fit well in TNA. I'd guess it would be either him or Corino.
Awesome is good with the right guy, namely Tanaka or Hayabusa. I think Awesome/Low Ki has huge potential to be as good as those feuds. I guess it depends how short Ki really is. I mean, Tanaka was pretty big in size for a japanese guy, and Awesome towered over him. Maybe Ki is too small and thin to look like he could take on awesome?

Not that I'll ever order an NWA PPV, but I think that Curt'd be pretty anticlimactic, therefore funny.
Oh, but Sid would be good. Yeah. Unless he's in the National Softball Playoffs.

Vikings (0-4) - Bye weeks are boring (round 2) Badgers (5-1) - Congrats to Penn State. Time to rethink our defense. Twins (1-0) - Mays looked like a million bucks. In short, our team's whole salary. Buffy 7.2 earns a 8.8 Out of 10 for being the funniest episode since "Tabula Rasa" and without the dramatic ending.
