I've been pretty negative on the WWE for the last couple of months. But this week I noticed a lot of positives on Raw and Smackdown.
Raw Up 0.2 to a 3.6 (3.6,3,6) - I noticed that the Triple H factor was cut down a lot, I noticed that they focused a lot more on building the mid-card players, The Book was a main focus. And for the first time in weeks no smut build for the second hour, there was no stay tuned for pillow fights or HLA or any other of that crap. Heck they even started with a real womens match to start the show. I look at that as all positives and glad to see the rating reflected it. And Lawler didn't make me ill while watching the show was also a plus... Only negative is that the second hour rating didn't jump at all, there real seems like something is missing in that main event spot. But all and all positive stuff
Smackdown Up 0.1 to a 3.6- Solid number, staying steady. best numbers since WrestleMania time (not including gay weeding) going opposite tough as hell shows. I think it shows it doesn't really matter what's on the other stations if the product is good people wrestling fans will stick with it... Only negative is that WWE.com hyped the show on their sight on Thursday with a bikini contest graphic instead of one of the 2 amazing matches. And the lead sentence/ pic on their recap on Friday was the bikini stuff (that just ain't right). But still overall positive stuff.
I know I've bitched and moaned and threw darts at the WWE since SummerSlam (especially for Raw) but Raw finally looks like where they were in early July when they did 5 out of 6 great shows from early July to mid August. Hope this week is a start of another streak and this time stick with it!
I'm just glad Trish is the champion again, NetHack. And I'm ticked that I don't get to see her anymore on Monday nights because of my job. It will suck if the WWE starts pushing the womens division again on RAW anytime before December.

Anyone out there have numbers for how well Raw is doing among cable channels? I doubt it's still #1, but the ratings are still pretty high (for cable.)

A 3.6 puts them at #2, behind ESPN NFL Football. Anything with a 3.0 or lower could put them under a slew of Nikelodeon Shows, and SportsCenter Weekend Edition.
Oh, and anything below a 2.9 could possibly put it under Trading Spaces, so...
According to the ratings sheet I've got anyway.
Since everyone else is doing it (ok, not EVERYONE, but...)
Vikings (0-3) - Looking like a sad year to be a Vikes, fan, and only getting by on my hate for the Rams and... Badgers (5-0) - The fact that, despite the fact that we looked like crap against friggin' Northern Illinois, we killified Arizona and are close to being bowl bound. Twins (90-66) - I have no delusions of granduer, but this certainly makes up for being a fan during all the "lean years". Buffy 7.1 earns a 8.3 Out of 10 for being solid, yet subtly underwhelming.
According to the ratings found on Zap2It the 2 hours of Raw placed in 8th (Raw) and 11th (Raw Zone) for the week of 9/16-9/22. The NFL game was 1st and the pre-game show was 4th. An original Lifetime movie was second and another one 9th and another 13th, NASCAR 3rd, and all the other top 15 slots were Nick shows.
Bears Forget NFL Games go 60 minutes: New Orleans 29, Chicago 23 Bears go to 2-1 (next at Buffalo) Congratulations to the Brisbane Lions for beating my Collingwood Magpies for the AFL Premiership...we'll get you next year though! Brisbane 10 15 75 Collingwood 9 12 66
However, that lists RAW at a 2.7, NHS put them at 3.6.
I took his ratings and put them on the Nielson's chart (albeit the ones I got for last week, I won't get this week's until tomorrow, but usually, except for movies, ratings don't jump and dip all that heavily).
So its funny...But I'll take Zap's word for it...

I think the ratings for the cable shows are adjusted to conform to the network ratings standards on Zap2It. The showed raw at about 3 million viewers, which would fit the network set up, which is a bit over 1 million viewers per point.

Even with a reduction due to the Emmy's, the Soprano's still are the #1 program on cable. As for RAW, it was encouraging to see the ratings rise, however, it was also the night after a PPV, which generally sees a bump in the ratings. The key is to see if the 3.6 holds, or if it falls back to the 3.4 of the previous non-ppv weeks.
Thank you Mr. Wanz for the check, now you get an AWA World Title Reign. But be careful, my boy Greg is a heat machine.
redsox, while you are correct that the Sopranos are the highest rated program right now (and indeed their premiere episode was the highest rated show that night on tv period I believe), generally the premium networks aren't listed in the cable ratings as their penetration is not even close to basic cable, and thus would in almost all cases be unfairly penalized in that regard, the insanely huge success of Sopranos notwithstanding. Hence the aforementioned results being the "basic cable rankings"

I got the 3.6 number from all the wrestling sites on the web, so I was comparing that number to the previous weeks number. And seeing how pretty decent both shows were last week I was just happy to see the number go up from previous weeks. Yes I understand the night after PPV the number usually goes up. (But actually after SummerSlam the number went down) I was glad it was a good show and if today they could do it again I just might have to change my signature
She can't wrestle and she has no mic skills. I'm supposed to be Mr. Positivity and I see nothing that she contributes to these shows. Get her to OVW, ASAP, let Linda follow her too. They aren't ready yet.
