Trying to load the Raw 12-8 thread by Screaming Head Guy, I got this:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 131470 bytes) in /var/www/wienerboard.com/thread.php on line 239
In English, what did I (or someone else) do wrong? BTW, is there any way to just get rid of posts by people you're ignoring instead of having a big, grey box that makes the post very hard to ignore?

What did you do? You clicked the link. The poor overworked server that is the wienerboard.com did the rest. Unfortunately, it didn't do what you wanted, instead it whuffed cookies and gave you an error message. Rather elegantly, though, I might add.
As for the big grey box, that's the way CRZ configured it. He could probably configure it differently, but not so's you didn't see the post at all. That would require lots of extra coding to selectively remove parts of the interface that are all dynamically generated. This would, more likely than not, result in more error messages like the one you posted above.
The absolute best he could do, I'm guessing, is minimizing the size of the table row corresponding to the post you're not seeing. I'm betting he's pretty much already done that. To remove it entirely would cause the most problems when all of the posts in a thread are by people you're ignoring.
Besides, sometimes even when you've got someone on ignore, you're curious. Having the table row there for the post allows neat-o stuff like "Stop Ignoring This User" and "See This Post."

Looks like there are so many threads in the Wrestling forum that we bumped into another memory problem. I've attempted some more optimisation so the error doesn't recur. After I finish the awards, I will start on my re-recode to fix ALL these problems (I hope).
BTW, is there any way to just get rid of posts by people you're ignoring instead of having a big, grey box that makes the post very hard to ignore?
With God, all things are possible - HBK reminded me of that. It's another recode away, though, so don't look for any wholesale changes along those lines any time soon - but making ignored users a *little* bit more invisible to those ignoring them IS on my "to-do" list.
Did something just change with the "Blues" configuration? The lighter blue is now being surrounded on all sides by a large mass of dark blue that has enveloped the W logo, slogan and folder/thread pattern (as well as the standard bottom of the page stuff). It's kinda hard to describe, but it makes everything look really, really small.

I made one small layout change, but the only thing affected is the top of the table, where the logo lives. Everything else is the same as before.
The background being lighter or darker doesn't bother me one way or the other. I just kinda think the logo floating above the rest of the content looks kinda silly. Then again, I'm on a 1024 resolution. Maybe it doesn't look so funny without the big borders.
Well, at least it wasn't something I did, but I did like it better the way it was. This layout gives me a headache.
