Lionel Tate, who was convicted of beating 6-year-old Tiffany Eunick to death while allegedly imitating his favorite wrestlers on TV (the life sentence was later overturned in 2004), will be back in prison for 30 years after pleading guilty to robbery and gun possession, violating his probation.
The sad story continues. But he has no one but himself to blame.

You don't think it's sad when young lives are ruined? Yes, Tiffany obviously, as well as her family, but you think it's a joyous thing that Lionel's life has seemingly always been, and will continue to be, a giant mess?

For some reason that just isn't going to fly with me this time.
I know that the wrestling angle is the hook for the dirtsheets and media, but it wasn't really the prominent defense theory during trial. (Funny story: The defense lawyer tried to depose Hulk Hogan, The Rock and Stone Cold, but his motion was denied.)
Realistically, he's probably looking at a life sentence. The sentence today was just for the probation violation. The armed robbery charge is still open, and doesn't look good.

To quote Vince McMahon:
Lionel screwed Lionel. Prior murder conviction or not, he did the crime. Now, he's gotta do the time.
I think I've been misunderstood. I never said Lionel wasn't a fuck up and a murderer. I just said that I think it's sad. And it is sad. It was sad when he was 12 years old and took someone else's life. Since he was so young he still had a shot at being rehabilitated. You know, if someone actually cared to try. Obviously whatever rehab he went through, if any, didn't work, and now his life is ruined for good.
SO, in other words, he makes bad desicions, and its "the system's" fault?
Sorry.
If at twelve you dont have a basic respect for human life, somebody messed up along the way, but at his age now, to hold up a pizza delivery guy? That's just assinine, and he deserves anything the court throws at him.

StaggerLee, my friend, can you read? Are you reading anything I've said? Perhaps you just lack reading comprehension skills. Please show me where I mentioned "the system." Please. Just once.
You seem to be taking pleasure in the fact that Lionel is a dangerous and violent criminal. I've got no beef with him getting punished to the fullest extent of the law. My ONLY POINT was that I think it's sad that he apparently has no guidance in life. He's still young. It would have been so easy for someone to show him how to straighten his life out.
He had little to no guidance before he killed that little girl, but you'd think that someone would step in and try to salvage his life. A family member, a friend perhaps. Maybe even just some interested party within his community. Instead, here we are today and Lionel is facing a felony conviction. He's as dangerous as ever. He has no hope for the future. If he ever gets out of prison, he'll probably kill someone else. It's disgusting, it's pathetic, it's sad. That's all.
(This will have to be my last post in this thread. Otherwise, I can look forward to Zed's HAMMER~! falling squarely on my head.)
