I think you mean to say that they hoped it would end the angle. But really, how could one match have ended it? What was the payoff? Since Kane lost, does that mean that he actually is a necrophilliac drunk driving killer? If he had won the title, would that have made him innocent?
They were wrestling each other for the title, not to determine Kane's guilt or innocence. Therefore, I must assume that Kane's angle will continue, although it might not be with Triple H involved. Both Hurricane and Scott Vick were mentioned as possible ways for the angle to continue. | Ringmistress

Damn you Benoit. The Crippler and his backstage pull. This reeks of political foul play.

| #11 Posted on 21.10.02 1704.14 | True, the WWF has always had innocence issues like that. Remember HBK/Bulldog in 96 when he was "accused" of trying to seduce Diana Smith? Would beating the Bulldog have proved he disn't "attempt to alienate her affections" (Thank you Clarence Mason)? Of course not but you'd never have guessed that, listening to Vince on commentary. I guess it just goes to show, the more things never change, the more they stay the same.
