Should this trade be completed. http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/mlb/news/story?id=6046548
Could the Blue Jays actually have found a way to get out of the Alex Rios contract and then the Vernon Wells contract in less than 18 months? And, because Wells showed something last year, the Blue Jays will actually get something back? As for the Angels, if they get the 2010 Vernon Wells for a 3 of the 4 years of the contract, it is a good deal. However, if they get the '07 or '09 Wells, this contract will be an albatross.

Umm, I'd say he'd have to play at 2006 levels, defense included, for all four seasons for this to come close to resembling "fair" for the Angels.

Good grief! This is a disaster!

And here's an idea of how idiotic this move is:

This is going to end very badly. And on top of everything, if Morales has another freak injury, now there's no one to fill in for him. I will now put my face in a cheese grater.

The kicker? The jays had to send ZERO MONEY to the Angels.

And outstanding trade, simply excellent.

This might outshine Carter/Alomar for Fernandez/McGriff in the annals of great Blue Jays trades. Just an unbelievable deal for Toronto. I can't believe that Anthopoulos found a taker for the Most Unmovable Contract In Baseball and, even more amazingly, gave up NO MONEY in return. Hell, if the Jays had offered to pay $40 million to Anaheim, I still would've liked the trade.

Angels fans, I'm sorry. Wells might have a good season next year but in the long-term, the Halos got boned

Still think Alex Rios for $100 waiver claim fee has to be in the mix for top Blue Jays trades.

As great as the trade is for the Jays, it's going to stop being funny if they sign Jose Bautista to something like 7 years, $140 million.

That's ok. In a couple of years, they could just send THAT contract to the Angels, too.

Yeah, a whole day has passed and I'm still incredibly bitter.

Toronto's arbitration offer to Bautista was $7 million, so I doubt they're going to suddenly bump him up to $20 million per year.

I'd suspect we see Bautista and the Jays settle on a three-year, $25 million contract.

this looks like the biggest name player dealt so far with Soriano. I don't know why Texas was so down on him. the trade makes little sense for them, they got two outfielders and that was the position they least needed.
