If you'll remember back to Survivor Series, the WWF Intercontinental Title was merged with the WCW U.S. Heavyweight Title, with U.S. Champion Edge winning the match for both belts. The WWF and WCW World Tag Team Titles were also unified, with the Dudley Boyz winning.

At Vengeance, the WWF and WCW World Titles were unified, and of course Chris Jericho became the first Undisputed Champion.

But of course, two active WWF men's titles were never unified with a WCW title-- the Hardcore Title, and the European Title. I've been reviewing title histories lately, and I've come up with a couple of amusing scenarios.

Meng was the last WCW Hardcore Champion, and when he left to enter the 2001 Royal Rumble, the title was abandoned. If he'd defended the title at Survivor Series, he would have had to defend against WWF Hardcore Champion Rob Van Dam. Talk about a horrible match, mostly due to the fact that Meng sucks.

The European Title could've been done a couple different ways, though. WWF European Champion Christian could have defended against the last WCW World Television Champion... (ha!) Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Oh, boy, that's a five-star matchup, huh?

Or... Christian could have defended against the first and only WCW European Champion... Sting. (Sting defeated Vader in a 1994 tournament in Germany for the new title). That's the only match of the three fantasy unification matches that I would actually pay to see.

Anyway-- that's my random blurb for the day.

The Light Heavyweight and Cruiserweight Titles weren't unified either. The WWE just hoped we'd forget about X-Pac.

Also Meng and Duggan weren't the champions. Meng gave the belt back to WCW before he came back as Haku. WCW just chose not to crown a new champ. Besides, the WWF Hardcore champ was RVD, who was in the main event at Survivor Series.

As for Duggan, he was stripped of the title along with everyone else at the Russo Reboot. So there was no TV Champion.

And I agree with Moe, Meng/Haku does not suck.

Eke, sting actually defended the European Cup last time WCW was in Germany, i believe fall 2000. ( I was there but forgot when it was)
Early on in the eve they had a rumble which saw Nash sneak up on Alex Wright and Mike Awesome If i remember correctly to win it. In the final match Sting then put Nash in the death lock about 4-5 minutes and and that pussy bitch taps right away.

In fact, me and my friends were SO laughing and kidding WWF should remember or care about the European Cup and have a match to decide the new Cup holder:) Obviously a no-go.

Well...

First of all, Meng does suck. LOL...

Anyway... WCW didn't crown a new Hardcore Champion after Meng gave them back the belt. Nor did they ever officially announce its status, so... theoretically speaking, Meng is still the WCW Hardcore Champion.

About the TV Title. If you'll remember, Duggan wasn't present when Russo ordered all the WCW titles to be vacated. The World, U.S., Cruiserweight, Hardcore and Tag Team Champions were, but the TV Champion was not. And an announcement on its specific status was never made, nor was a new champion ever crowned.

Tragic, though, you are right about the Light Heavyweight and Cruiserweight Titles. LOL... And I did forget about X-Pac for quite some time. Damn them for putting him back on my TV so I have to remember. LOL...

I think he got fired, Tom. No real reason why, other than he was taking up space.

The one and only reason I want to see Goldberg come back is that then we would see Haku/Meng wrestler every week. I liked Meng but seriously how the fuck was he the #1 contender and deserved at least 10 title matches? Well, I guess that is what happens when you are good friends with the champ.
