I picked up the new Andrew WK album today, entitled "The Wolf". When I opened it up, I was happy to see that it looked identical to the first album, "I Get Wet" in every way...plain black with the same font and everything. I don't know why I thought that was so cool, but I did. Anyway, I think AWK has come pretty far in a short time. This one has more ballads than "I Get Wet". Never Let Down is the best song by far. If you get a chance to see the video, you should. It focuses on AWK piano skills (his parents made him take classical lessons since he was 4) and it's very cool.
Anyway, I wanted to spread the AWK love. This guy is someone who gives 100% for every show (he often throws up from the amount of physicality he goes through in every show) and is legendary for his love of his fans. He stated his goal was "to make the most exciting music ever". He's got a ways to go for that, but he's off to a good start!
Hail to the Redskins! Patrick Ramsey will own you! 16-0, here we come!
I have to say, I don't take him seriously at all, but it's just so damn funny to watch and listen to him talk (especially when he hosted the MTV'S Most Controversial Videos special) that he's become somewhat of a guilty pleasure for me. His songs are pretty catchy, too.
Just out of curiosity, is "Make Sex" the same as the one on his pre-I Get Wet releases? Because I know he redid one of those songs ("Girls Own Juice", retitled "Girls Own Love") for I Get Wet...
