Picking up immediately after the chaos and destruction of the mid-season finale...

Michonne, finding herself completely alone (especially after finding and stabbing poor Herschel's severed but still "living" head), begins back down the dark path of roaming with walkers. A jarring nightmare of Michonne's pre-apocalypse days provides us with her long-awaited backstory. She eventually snaps back to reality, takes out a million walkers in a fit of rage, and starts tracking Rick and Carl...

Meanwhile, Carl acts like a freaking brat, blaming his father for all of the people they lost. Carl doesn't need his father anymore, so he says, and would be perfectly fine if Rick ended up dying. With Rick incapacitated, Carl goes on a supply run, narrowly escapes multiple walker attacks, gets really cocky after doing so, and celebrates by eating 112 ounces of chocolate pudding. Carl eventually snaps back to reality after he thinks his dad, gasping for air and crawling on the floor, has turned, and he can't find the balls to pull the trigger.

A brilliant scene has Carl staring lovingly at a next-gen video game system in some kid's abandoned bedroom, which brings a brief smile to his face, before he realizes that a video game system has only one utilitarian purpose: its cables are a good way to keep the front door shut.

The prison for these people was as big a break as the initial walker infection. Now they're back to tatters and scavenging. The new nuclear family of Rick, Carl and Michonne is a nice image of how much the world has changed and they with it.

112 ounces of pudding in a world where the toilets don't work. My God, Carl.

I was taken out of the episode a few times wondering why these houses seemed abandoned but not picked apart already for supplies.

Looking at Judith's baby seat last night, I noticed the straps are unbuckled. I can barely work those chunky spring locks; a zombie ain't gonna do it. She's still alive.

Seeing the first bit of Talking Dead, I still find it hard to believe the Michonne actress is so distinct outside the character. She's unrecognizable.

Five minutes into The Talking Dead, my wife goes: "They're banging." about Nicotero and Michonne. As the episode went on, I was pretty certain of it myself.

David Morrisey is still in the opening credits even though he has only appeared in a few episodes and his character is dead.

Zombie Hershel's severed head was cool.

Carl was back to being punk ass Carl. I was rooting for the Zombies to get him like when he was messing with the Zombie that was stuck in the mud back in the farm. But nooooo... and he is trying to put his new catchphrase over - "I win." I thought he would write "I WIN" on the door with the chalk.

This episode was really slow. I expected more since we waited so long for the show to come back.

I liked this episode, but I am a big fan of them moving around a lot and separating.

Carl was kind of acting like a turd, but when you think about all he has been through it is not that surprising.

I liked Michone's flashback/dream sequence. I think the show could use more of those.

I hated this episode. It feel completely flat. I am used to holes in the plot but this episode had too many for me to look past.

A horrible nights sleep and Rick is fine?
As someone who has had cracked ribs (I assume that is what Rick had) one nights sleep does not cure it. The next day you actually feel worse.

112 ounces of pudding and Carl is fine?
How old is that pudding anyway? And after not eating much at all, his stomach can handle that?

Michone carving up twenty of the slowest reacting walkers ever?
The walker that attacked Carl in the bedroom could move, but these twenty all attack solo style? Come on. And seriously, two walker pets and you are fine against other walkers? Then why did they not amputate a bunch of walkers around the prison to hide the human smell inside?

Carl being a complete dick?
I get it. You are a teenager and your life blows. But you and your dad had just fixed a fence, machine gunned some walkers and escaped the Governor and his goons. Your dad is beaten almost to death and your sister is dead. So NOW you pick the time to act like an ass? You want to be a man - take care of your dad like he has taken care of your sorry ass.

Walkers find the one house people are in?
They were both sleeping and somehow walkers come right to the door? And good Lord - how far away did Carl have to take them? It would have been easier to grab a bat and walk up behind them at the door and bash their heads in.

Miraculously, the house Rick finds has food!
There should be like no food left right? I mean EVERYONE has looted houses for food - but not this one? Really?

I expected much much more than what they gave us. If they took away Carl's dickish attitude and had him step up and protect his dad and secure the house from walkers, it would have worked better towards him being more or a leader and the father son bond getting stronger. The episode would have been much better.

If they keep this up with Carl, then I will wind up hating him as much as I hated his mom.

Life is hilariously cruel.

I'm starting to think there isn't as many people left in this zombie world than we believe there is.

Count me in also for wanting the zombie to bite Carl.

Really, it'd be impossible for every house to be cleaned out. They've been to areas that have been stripped clean, and this time they got lucky and found a place that hasn't been touched since the evacuation. I bet most of the houses in the area have useful stuff in them. As for how the walkers found the one house with living people inside it, I suspect that Rick left a nice trail of fresh blood right up to the door. Dude's in rough shape.

This isn't a new thing. Michonne had a couple of pets before. I thought the idea was that the zombies had a kind of herd mentality, so having a couple of tame zombies with you not freaking out because of the food right in front of them kind of protected her.

To be fair, Carl was doing a lot of yelling in an otherwise very quiet neighborhood.

Did you miss, like, ALL of Carl's rant? He blames his dad for everything. For being complacent, for being passive, for being a bad leader and letting people down. You don't have to agree with him (I don't, although if I thought my dad got my sister killed I might not be his BFF for a little while) but if he felt that way then when ELSE would he get mad and start acting a fool?

Over the last few weeks, Sunday nights were a barren wasteland of television - and now there are three shows at 9pm that I need to watch.

Incidentally, if you're not watching True Detective on HBO, you're SERIOUSLY missing out.

Pubescent kids are pretty irrational and moody when there's not a zombie apocalypse, so Carl gets a bit of a break from me given that he's seen his mom and his infant sister (presumably) die, not to mention a few friends, within a fairly short period of time. In terms of plot, his attitude makes sense - but I kind of hope this is the end of it.

I thought Danai Gurira did an incredible job with little to no dialogue. I wasn't so into Michonne's direction last season, but I feel like they're finally going somewhere with her (although that tends not to bode well for certain characters).

I think it's long established that zombie's behave as a means to serve the plot, so whether they act consistently at a given moment is not nearly as important as the scene the zombie's are driving. It's an hour a week - not every situation is going to have an adequate explanation. Maybe there's food in some of these houses because they lie on the outskirts of town? Maybe they were being ransacked and a herd drove everyone out? Maybe Michonne wipes some of the zombie blood on her clothing to hide her scent (ala Rick in Season 1)?

If they delved into every detail, which they could do, then the show would be burdened with details and be pretty boring.

As for the food, I find ti hard to beleive that a residential area had not been hit by people for food right after the walkers hit or shartly thereafter. Also, if memory serves, it sure looked like the house was hit already.

And as far as Rick and Carl walked, he had to have stppped bleeding by the time he got to the house or he would have feinted due to loss of blood or died.

Life is hilariously cruel.

Carl did a lot of yelling when they first got in. And it was inside the house. After hisinitial profanity laved outburst, there was no scenes with him yelling.

Carl was yelling when he first found Rick passed out, trying to wake him up. It was right after that that the walkers appeared at the door.

I'm having difficulty understanding the argument over the believability of a house having food, walkers finding people and a kid eating lots of pudding in a show where the main premise is ZOMBIES HAVE TAKEN OVER THE EARTH.

Also, how many times do these walkers surprise Rick & Co. out of nowhere?!?! I mean, when they're 100 feet away, they're groaning and snarling, but when Maggie and Glenn walk into a drugstore? Stealth mode. Buried under the sand? Not a peep. I mean, come on!
