Glenn is amazing. I mean, that guy is tough as nails. When he managed to free himself from that chair and kill that Walker after the beating and torture he endured from Merle, I thought about how far he's come from "that sneaky" kid he was when he met met Rick in the tank in Atlanta. And he was already pretty brave and resourceful then. Maggie is probably the best looking woman on the show, and the pick of this litter, and Glenn deserves her. He's a man's man.
Between Glenn and Maggie, the Governor knew exactly which one of them would eventually snap.
Milton turns out to be kind of a dope, woefully ignorant of many of the realities of living in Walking Dead World. Surprisingly no hands on practical knowledge of the living hell outside Woodbury and dealing with Walkers. I'm unclear however on how personal this experiment is to Milton; he takes it pretty seriously and seems very invested in it, but it seems like the Governor is the one who needs Milton to succeed so he can find a way to save or restore his Walker daughter.
Michonne seemed to take a shine to #TeamPrison (as the current hashtag is) pretty quickly. You could practically see Michonne's heart melt when Rick saw Carol again or when Rick thanked Daryl for watching out for Carl and Asskicker when Rick went cuckoo bananas.
I don't remember my third grade teacher's name, but for Carl, it wasn't that long ago. The naming of Judith Asskicker Grimes wasn't the highest item on Rick's list of priorities when it gets right down to it.
I don't know if the sequence with Rick, Daryl, Michonne, amd Omar (or is it Axel?) finding that crazy redneck with the shotgun in the shack with the dead dog made a lick of sense, but that guy made good Walker bait.
Just in the dialogue where the Governor evaluated the truth of whether ten people could have cleared the prison of all those Walkers, they successfully made the Ricktatorship seem like the bad asses of bad asses. Seemingly tougher and more capable than the "paramilitary wannabe" types Michonne described the Woodbury folks as. I also like the insinuation that Woodbury can defend against Walkers but isn't necessarily prepared to take on an attack from actual skilled humans on a mission.
Mid-season finale next week already? Something major going down is going to depend on where Andrea's loyalties lie, huh?

I like how they cut to commercial right after the walkers tore him open and feasted on his guts - "The Walking Dead, presented by KFC - Come in today and taste why fresh is better."

I knew this was going to end up here...Worst.Product.Placement.Ever.
I seriously felt that Glenn was in danger...with this show being the way it is, you never know. It's deviated enough from the comics that pretty much anything goes.
Merle is a rabid hunting dog. You have to keep that leash pretty tight or he's going to turn on you...I wouldn't be too comfortable with him if I was the Governor.
Milton...no family...telecommuted...no human contact. Somehow I find him creepier than the Governor. Does he know about Penny?
Side note, CM Punk did a great job on Talking Dead tonight as well.

The clash next week is going to be something epic and it's going to be interesting to see the new "outlaw" dynamic that'll be in place at Woodbury. Yes, Woodbury can deal with Walkers, in the way that they can deal with wild animals. But now Woodbury has a clan of organized outlaws that are breaching their walls and I agree that they aren't ready for this.
The sneak peek is really hinting that Andrea's throwing her lot in with the Governor, which makes me want to watch her eat it that much more.

Harry Crane would be pulling an all-nighter on this one.
Excellent episode. I've also read the comics and love that they are changing it up to keep the show interesting. They are following the main plot but changing some major and minor details that seem to still work. I'm glad that they changed the Governor interrogation scene...( Still haven't figured out spoiler tags, so I'll leave it at). Just great execution for the tv show.
I was bummed out at the last FWD of commercials when I realized there would be no Woodbury/Prison encounter tonight because little time was left. My heart was racing. I can't wait for next weeks episode, waiting for the rest of the season is going to suck grapefruits.
This show has become the rare occurrence of visual adaptation matching that of its written form (I guess this was visual too, you get the drift though). Sure we can say the comic is better.... But then again the show holds its own ground.

Amen. I also really loved last night's episode, as Glenn built up his fan club. He came off super tough, and he was clearly willing to sacrifice both himself and Maggie to keep Merle and the Governor away from the prison. The Woodbury crew was also menacing in all the right ways last night. Creepy Science Guy Milton is by far my favorite new character, and his super awkward interactions with people are highlights of the show for me. The Governor's interrogation of Maggie was really powerful. It showed that there really aren't any lines he won't cross to get what he wants, but the reason I liked it better than what happens in the comics is because it also showed that he doesn't cross lines if they don't get him what he wants. He figured out Maggie's limits and used Glenn as leverage to get her to spill her guts. And we finally got to see Merle at his best (worst?). "Why'd you try to kill him then?" "He pissed me off."
Carol's discovery of the baby, realization of Lori's death, condolences to Rick, and going back to the baby was an opera. That woman is good.
I liked Carl trying to be strong for his dad, and Rick recognizing it and not pushing sentiment onto his son. I also loved Rick and Carl fetching Michonne. They had their stuff down.

A thousand times this. I would watch a whole episode that was nothing but Milton's experiments and awkward conversations with people. In some ways his unintentional creepiness is scarier than Merle or the Governor. What did bug me is Andrea's half-hearted attempt to refute the experiment. She was At the CDC! They had much better tests and equipment proving that when reanimating the brain doesn't come back- just the stem. Perhaps this is information she should share, huh?

Neither, it's Oscar. I have a bad feeling he is just the "red shirt" of the team... especially with the casting of Tyreese.

Is it really? I mean, you're already watching The Walking Dead, are you going to be that put off by a KFC ad following that scene? I thought it was pretty funny. Maybe KFC has a sense of humor & requested the ad in that spot?
I FF through commercials so I missed the KFC promo upon first viewing. I definitely enjoyed the juxtaposition of the KFC promo more than those awful ads during the season 2 finale where AMC showed all the "similarities" between The Walking Dead and Mad Men.
@CMPunk
“@ZackRyder: @CMPunk She played me bro” I got your back.
I loved it. I also thought they were going with the rape scene til Maggie told to make it quick. Pretty much everything was perfect. The wife thought Milton needed a SS badge. The fight next week could put this show over the top for Sons as Best Show on TV.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.
So, they cast Tyreese, and the guy from Jericho might be back? nice.
On another board I'm on I called last week that Maggie wouldn't be raped. In the comic it was Michhone that was locked up, and if Maggie acted like she did, she would have been. Maggie played it perfect.

These were my two favorite scenes too. I am not a big Carol fan, but in those ten seconds, she out acted any and everyone who has been on this show. A deep tip of the cap to her - it was a powerfully acted scene.
Rick treating Carl like an adult because he has to and Carl acting like an adult because he has to, and both knowing it, was great. Again Carl was not a favorite of mine but he has grown on me and I look forward to his slow character development.
If Andrea saddles up with the Governor, it better end with her being eaten or shot.
