@UltimateWarrior
The Ultimate Warrior
Morning, warriors. Yesterday is gone. Forever. Today, you rip fresh ass.

----------

Yep, that was from this morning. THIS is what is gonna get me to get into this crap. I think Twitter is beyond pointless. Average people are boring and no one should care about everything little thing they do or think and celebrities only use this crap as paid commercials or personal publicity.

Warrior, however, is fucking insane and I think giving him an open forum to just blab out whatever comes to mind at any given moment is, potentially, the greatest thing ever.

I mean, look at that tweet this morning. What the fuck IS that?

----------

There is also a downside to this. Twitter and the Internets is definitely the reason why the Wrestling business is down, I think.

Looking back years ago before the internet, there was a 'mystique' to wrestling. You didn't know anything about the performers except what you saw at the shows or on television. The only backstage stuff you ever heard about was from official #900 hotlines or the magazines. Every minute detail about a wrestlers life wasn't general, public knowledge.

Now a days, we know everything. Hulk Hogan is an old crippled guy named Terry Bollea, Ric Flair is a broke, pathetic guy with multiple ex-wives, John Cena is the top guy in wrestling because he asked for the spot after a backstage meeting with Vince McMahon... everything you want to know about these 'characters' is openly available at the touch of a few keys. There are no more 'characters'.

One of the last few holdouts from the good old days of wrestling, the Ultimate Warrior, has embraced the internet so much that he's even doing short videos 'out of character' now...

At least he used to try and be 'The Ultimate Warrior' when he did things like this. Now, he's not wearing the make-up, he's seemingly in his basement gym talking into a hand held camera or his phone... just like anyone else could do. The Ultimate Warrior has finally gone from his glory days as a crazy wrestler wearing face paint (WWF), to a crazy wrestler with magic powers (WCW), to a crazy wrestler turned right wing public speaker who created his own philosophy... to crazy dude who could live next door to you and puts creepy videos of himself on Youtube and uses Twitter.

What am I getting at here, what was my point... I don't even remember now, honestly, but I just had a thought about this guy...

...Yeah, THAT guy. Make all the fun you want to about him, but I really wish it was still real to 'ME'.

EDIT: Totally forgot to mention that Warriors line about getting "...one of those womanly hand shakes..." is fucking MONEY and I'm stealing that. Oh Shit that's Awesome!

I could be wrong, but how do we know this is actually his Twitter page? There's no Verified checkmark, and UltimateWarrior.com doesn't seem to link to the Twitter page.

If it becomes logical and coherent, we'll know it is not Warrior.

Pretty sure there was an internet in 2000.

I'd concede there may be an issue here, but it's way down the list. Stepping away from the US, wrestling business seems slightly trending up in Japan, and everyone's on some social media there. Almost no one in Mexico is on Twitter, and business is in the doldrums. Interesting stories, interesting characters and interesting matches rule the day.

Tremendous. I demand someone other then myself follow him on Tweeter and re-post all his tweets here at the end of the week. I would, but Twitter is the most egocentric thing I have ever seen.

Spoken like someone who doesn't actually know anything about Twitter and has formed his opinion of an entire communications platform by having it poorly explained to him by other people who don't know anything about Twitter.

Cena asked Vince for the spot, straight out. He said he wanted to be the top guy. Vince admired his moxy and then, a couple years later, for reasons that have nothing whatsoever to do with this story (ridiculous roided out physique, getting over with the rap gimmick), Vince gave him the spot. It's really Vince's response to anyone who complains to him of "Cena fatigue".

Re: Warrior. How can anyone watch that clip and not see an unstable man? He absolutely should be medicated, and possibly killed, and certainly castrated with no anesthetic.

More importantly, Warrior discovered YouTube posts!

Since the Warrior videos link to his Twitter account and vice-versa, it's pretty clear that it's Warrior without account verification.

I think another big part about why the magic is gone is that, while I think the TV product has recently improved, there really isn't the drama that there used to be. There's no Pillmans stirring shit, no renegade ECWs to really sway the larger stale promotions, no wrestlers in black tights and black boots being told they "can't put asses in the seats" only to become the biggest star ever. No "Hogan holding people down" (everybody gets a world title run these days, especially since there's 2 of them in the same promotion!)

The Twitter accounts would be a lot more interesting if there was really something to say.

Which is why I'm interested in this so-called "bullet" Warrior has to end Hulkamania! Because it's about the more interesting times. Of course it's nothing, and "Hogan Knows Best" did more to hurt - maybe not end - Hulkamania than anything Warrior could ever say.

Wrestling hit it's biggest boom ever during the "internet period". If you want to know why wrestling is down, it's one word: Monopoly.

As soon as WWE bought WCW, everyone who even barely understood wrestling knew that things were going to get boring fast. And they did.

I knew all this years ago, except for John Cena's story which I just heard about a few months ago. Although the version I heard is that a number of wrestlers went to Vince saying "make me the #1 guy!" but he picked Cena because of reasons already mentioned. I tend to believe that version a bit more, seeing as how a company full of wrestlers saying "I'm not that good, please don't make me a multi-millionaire" seems far-fetched.

I saw the Warrior's twitter account a couple days ago when there was only 600 or so people following it... I debated for a while whether or not to follow him, but then decided that I already get enough nonsense on my twitter feed from the Divas (although it's TOTALLY worth it when they sabotage themselves like Melina and Natalya).

Melina has had a few periods where her emotions get the better of her and she starts getting catty towards people for no reason. Making a few snippy comments about the WM match with Snookie was the latest I believe.

Natalya was champion going into the Royal Rumble, and the day before she started making comments like "the last few months have been such an amazing journey in my life" and "People always say "you'll look back on this time in your life and really appreciate it"- but I've enjoyed every ..." and other things about her run as champ that all seemed to be written in the past tense. She catches herself after and says she plans on winning, but then loses the title the next day.

It sure sounded like she was talking about her reign ending the day before it did, and since then she's been in their doghouse. Whether or not that's the reason or something else happened, the Royal Rumble seems to mark the end of her being in their favor.
