Not for nothing, but the guy is a freaking wrestler. We're talking about a guy who has made his name pretending to fight really large half naked sweaty men. He said a dumb thing, it will never make the air, and he manned up and said he was sorry.
I would check the source and his track record of putting his foot in his mouth before going to bat for him.
Originally posted by Pool-Boy I saw a thread where everyone was knee-jerk condemning this "horrible" comment. Sorry I interrupted.
I would also make sure people were having these knee jerk reactions before drawing my line in the sand.
I'm failing to see how he's defending scripted promos. Because he's saying that mistakes like that won't happen with scripted promos? I hardly see that as a defense of something he's clearly insulting.

He insults those that use scripted promos. But simply by making the Tsunami statement in an improvised promo he shows that apparently scripted promos are a good thing since they can prevent feet from entering mouths.
I feel it's inconsiderate but not a huge deal. I can see how others feel different.
Personally, I was more shocked/surprised that Punk got away with wearing a Manson shirt on Raw. Though probably that went less noticed because it's been a while since Charlie was relevant.
He said a stupid thing, it wasn't on a live broadcast so it can* be edited out of the final show, he apologized, so do we really need to drag this issue out any further?
*I am familiar with TNA's technical prowess and I fully expect the next episode of Impact to be nothing but a loop of Hulk Hogan saying "tsunami tsunami tsunami tsunami" for two straight hours

That's like someone burning a burger on the grill is arguing in favor of microwave burgers.
I really feel an urge to bring up Hogan's Yapapi Indian Strap Match promo.
He was at least making an effort to cut an effective and intense promo. Sure; he failed miserably; but the effort was there which you don't see too often from him with his cookie cutter "Whatcha gonna do?" stuff.
