Being a subscriber to the Torch, I get access to the VIP Message Board. While I don't post, I normally peruse it a couple of times a day. The main reason I don't post is because of the attitude of some other posters there; like 99.9% of message boards on the internet, most threads are filled with spam, petty arguments, name-calling, and outright stupidity.
Starting today, though, Wade has implemented an "era of moderation," in which he has assigned moderators to keep the peace, so to speak, with some basic rules like: no physical threats, stay on topic, don't print false news knowingly, no crude insults, etc. Ya know, common sense type stuff.
The funny thing is, some posters are actually COMPLAINING about these rules being put in place, fearing that they're creativity will be expunged by moderators who, for some reason, they assume will take it too far.
I was wondering if anyone here also posts on the Torch website? This whole situation just makes me thankful that the Zims run a tight ship here.
Methinks a lot of Internet "writers" just want attention. They write controversial and/or offensive things so that they get noticed. Like "class clowns", negative attention is better to them than none at all.
