God, this was disappointing. I really like Aubrey Plaza and was rooting for her. Still am. This is her first starring role in a mainstream Hollywood comedy. I so so wish it weren't terrible. It pained me to pan The To-Do List, but not nearly as much as it pained me to watch it.
Well, based on your review and reading up a bit online, the premise seems absolutely terrible. Sounds like a good storyline for a porn movie, but not a Hollywood comedy. Why do people have to be so obsessed with filth and poop jokes?
Aubrey Plaza has a nice "regular girl" look to her- she should be doing romantic comedies and could probably turn that into some serious roles if she has the acting chops. Her bits for the World Of Warcraft commercials use her well. She was pretty good in Safety Not Guaranteed, so I really think this role is a bit of a downgrade from that.
With that said, its hard not to watch a movie with Connie Britton and Scott Porter with as big of a Friday Night Lights fan as I was.
First off, I forgot to mention that Paul Oakenfold scored Vexille (The W at Amazon). I doubt that's going to influence you to purchase it, but I thought that was neat. No new adds, but 39 disappear: NOW SHOWING UNAVAILABLE: Truth Lies:
