The theatre I saw this at was (un)fortunate enough to get the Rock movie (I've already forgotten the name, thankfully), Daddy Day Camp, the Alvin and the Chipmunks mess, and Horton. I'm not sure which one of those trailers depressed me more.
As for the movie, I enjoyed it. The first half of the movie was fantastic (for some reason, the scroll completely cracked me up), but I felt the second half dragged a little bit. KJames summed up a lot of my feelings as well, and I still can't get past the thought of "what if they had made this a few years ago?".
I loved it. While the Spider-Pig joke was insanely hilarious when I first saw it in the trailer, it wasn't much of a surprise in the actual theater, and it didn't get nearly the uproarious reaction the trailer did. But that's kind of a catch 22 I guess.
I'm with you Torchslasher, some of the most hilarious parts were the subtle conversations that aren't setup as huge jokes (something that I think the Simpsons has always done well.) I'm surprised though that nobody has yet mentioned:

That's the scene where Bart is shooting Homer with a BB gun, right? The theater we went to had the bottom of the screen obscured, so - while I could see there was some text going across the screen - I couldn't read what it said.
So I watched the first two Mindy Projects back to back and it was too much for me. Too much Mindy! I always thought I liked Mindy Kaling but The Mindy Project is making me reconsider that assumption as false. She talks so much!
