And again, they completely skipped over the couch gag. Why are they doing that?
Good lord, Bart got Krabappel fired AGAIN? How many times are they going to play this card?
That's just the backdrop for the main plot and it honestly sounds like they picked two random names out of a hat and decided, "Here's a romance!" What's worse is that they're dragging this out through the entire summer and having people vote on this nonsense! It's kinda painful to watch them bring up "Who shot Mr. Burns?", which was such a better story and gets even better in retrospect.
Big thumbs down on the season finale. But thanks for showing up, Joey Kramer!
As for the season, it started off with a great season premiere and they just couldn't reach that level again. They centered WAY too many episodes around Lisa, which hardly ever pays off and they centered two episodes around Fat Tony. Fat Tony's great in small doses, but he shouldn't be getting this much screen time. Overall, it's another forgettable season for The Simpsons.

He's very steoreotypically drawn in his first cartoon (the one that won the oscar) and then changed to the design everyone knows in the second and subsequent ones.
