Most startling part of the episode for me was the realization that Chong's 72 years old. Good gravy!

There was a lot to love about the first segment. The cheesy intro to the "That's Kent-ertainment" segment, the Cheech & Chong origin story, the return of the really, really tall guy, and Homer wanting to meet Don Johnson.

Unfortunately, it just couldn't bring the funny for the rest of the episode. I couldn't get into the B-plot with the crazy cat lady or the main plot with Cheech and Chong making dueling comedy duos. And the Shakespeare ending was just plain random.

Homer: Chong is refusing to fall back on his old catchphrases!
Bart: Aye caramba!

"Also, yes."

I pretty much agree. The early going here was about as funny as The Simpsons gets these days. That's something of a backhanded compliment from me, but it actually had me laughing pretty well.

The rest of the Cheech/Chong story was OK, but the B-plot was really bad. The Crazy Cat Lady is probably my least favorite Simpsons character of all time.

I can't count the number of times they've done a "Kent Brockman show opening montage," and it gets me every time. I also liked the play on words of "Teech and Chong." That's about it.

Even how Walter vomitted into the toilet was similar to Gus Fring... turned the water from the sink on, laid a towel down for his knees.
