| #1 Posted on 9.3.04 2346.05 | Anybody watch it? While I love the Sopranos, this was the premiere I was most looking forward to this week.
The return of the invincible Armenian gangster from season 1 was a nice surprise. Hopefully he returns to LA so the strike team gets another shot at him. I like how they tied him in with the money train and the rest of the gangsters, since he was the first Armenian they ever dealt with. Plus, you gotta love the foot fetish thing.
I've read that episodes 4 and 5 are shocking, and I think my Tuesdays are booked for the next 13 weeks or so.

You just know Vic's world is gonna collapse around him once those bills get tracked and if/when Matthew's tutor becomes "Daddy". Throw in a little Strike Team turmoil and this looks like another winning season. This blew away the Sopranos episode on Sunday night, for sure.

Everything that happened was another piece of evidence to put in the "Mackey is screwed" file and then right when it looked like he wouldn't have a single way out... he and Claudette are given the opportunity to exploit the "enemy of my enemy is my friend" rule.
Best non-animated, non-supernatural show on television. Worth the wait in every way.

There was so much great stuff in this episode. Dutch pulling the shoe w/foot out of the box was hilarious, and the Aceveda vs. Claudette screaming match was awesome. I can't wait for the rest of the season. It looks like there's going to be some triple threat tension betwixt Vic (like he doesn't have enough problems already), Shane, and Tevan. I'd take this time to wonder if Shane's going to be gone from the Strike Team, but I wondered the same thing at the beginning of last season, and his status was cemented by the third episode. Also judging by the previews for the rest of the season, Claudette's going to really try to put the screws to Vic by bringing in that Undercover Decoy team. Anyway, I can't wait. Thank god this show's back. I've been waiting too damn long.

I must now go watch the other two seasons.
Quick question ... what was the African-American cop beaten at the end of last season?

Julian is "confused". Clearly, he's gay, but he's also religious, and he's been fighting the urge. He's married now (or at least WAS married) with a stepson. He participated in a "blanket party", in which a gay perp was beaten while under a blanket. When the squad found out he was gay, they gave him a "blanket party" of his own, beating him senseless. That's why Vic told him to stand up for himself, and he did on Tuesday.

It will be nice to see Danny back in some sort of 'rat' mode - loving the business so much she'll do whatever it takes.
Barbwire Mike, right on with Claudette and Vic joining sides.
Kick ass show, great episode...finally something decent on tv...

Someone on the strike team is going to die this year and I am thinking Shane or the black guy. Sopranos what? The Shield is the king of drama. | The Yak

| #9 Posted on 11.3.04 2020.53 | Instant Rating: 3.68 | Tevon is too much like the other guys not to be a plant (remember last season, when he pretended to unload a gun on Lops?). He's a great character, though. I also think that pitting Claudette and Vic against each other was the best thing that they could do last season, for it is really paying off. I have heard that this season is going to consist of 15 episodes instead of 13.
Quotes of the night (approximate):
"Whatever makes Slap happy." - Vic
"Damn. I was gonna ask her to the prom." - Vic after Claudette gave him a cold shoulder.
Oh, as a bonus, two of my favorite peripheral characters were on that episode. All hail Kern Little and Van Bro!! :) |
