First off, line of the night went to Claudette's "While you were reading faces he was reading your package."

Hmmm, now the combatants have come face to face. It can only get better from here. Vic mentioned trying to find out what Kavanaugh has to lose and that could be interesting. He's a loner even within IAD which makes me think there's bound to past people he's burned that would give Vic some info to get back at him.

Tina did a good job on the sex ring bust and her participation just kinda shoved Julian's face in the fact that she's not a wash-out yet.

Shane and Mara...Mara is bad news whenever she knows anything about the team, period. On the subject of Mara being bad news - are we ever gonna see Tavon again? A friend of mine at work who watches the show is always on the crusade to bring him back, if for no other reason than to wrap up his character.

Nah, the line of the night was Aceveda telling Kavanaugh that he had never shaken Vic's hand and looked him straight in the eye as he was lied to. Pretty damn cool because it's what the show is about. Best scene was the Strike Force trying to keep cool while Shane told the joke and they were questioning Lem. Not the best episode, but it had two great scenes and is definitely better than anything on TV that isn't The Shield...

Excellent episode.

Only Dutch would agree to go out with a gay guy. It's too bad that they didn't show a scene from the "date," complete with Dutch awkwardly telling Facereader that he wasn't gay, but he'd like to friends, and it all just coming out awfully ala Dutch. Of particular irony here was Facereader "sensing" Claudette's secret and Claudette straight up knowing his. Still, this whole story just adds to the impending revelation that something is wrong with Claudette. Hopefully we won't be kept in the dark too much longer.

Tina really did redeem herself on the sex-ring sting. Not only was she effective in taking down a much larger suspect, but she managed to avoid an ugly situation in the van without compromising the operation. Hopefully this will give her some more well-earned lifelines with Julian.

I agree that the joke/typing scene was the best scene. It laid the contrast on pretty thick, and Shane trailing off when Angie's body was "mentioned" was perfect. Vic and company show that they are still just as smart as they are thuggish by finding a way to communicate without leaving Lem flapping in the wind. Also worth mentioning is how Vic would drop little bombs like "if he wants a lawyer, we'll get him a lawyer" when Lem was around. Awesome.

Mara is emphatically bad news, but she is a tremendously effective character. Next to the Armenians, she was the primary source of conflict in the 3rd season. Her taking out of Tavon was one of the most memorable scenes ever on the show. Personally, I'd like to see Tavon come back as well, but I think it'd be over with him and the ST. I wouldn't be surprised to see him included in a list of sins that the ST has committed, a la Seinfeld finale. Of course, he may still think that he messed up Mara, so...

By the way, did the ST reform? At the beginning of S4, they were all doing their own thing, with Vic and Ronnie on the garage sting, Shane on vice, and Lem in juvi. I know they were brought together unofficially by Antwon, but were they officially reformed over the break or something?

It just sort came to be, unofficially as you say, as Lem and Shane were working with Vic and Ronnie during the seizure/Antwon dealings. There was never anything official shown on screen about reformation, which is a bit odd since Aceveda directly told Vic at the end of season 3 that special teams were being phased out.
