So? It's *still* funny. And even more applicable than ever these days. American Dad is the only one that manages to move beyond the formula in spite of itself; and be almost always funny and creative from week to week. AD is more hit than miss which is a lot more than I can say for Family Guy or The Cleveland Show.

The way I understood it (which could be wrong), is that Paramount made the DVDs (all of them) and made a deal with Criterion to just "stick" their name on it.
