Some good moments, and some not so good moments. We all now know exactly where we stand with WWE now. For better or worse they took a stand tonight, and didn't give the people what they wanted. I don't know why they couldn't put Bryan in the middle of the Rumble somewhere, but they didn't.

We will like what they want us to like. They made a bold statement tonight. It's interesting to watch them do this, especially right now. Weird.

As shitty as that ending was, the show was solid for the Bryan/Wyatt early MOTY candidate.

Daniel Bryan is tweeting about it. This is a storyline now.

I don't get it with WWE Network and WM 30 being build up the reaction from that crowd has to say something. I hope against my better judgement that the under card can save this show.

They weren't booing, they were cheering for "Boo-tista".

That opener was fantastic, but holy cow the crowd was having none of anything else.

Q'n'D Results:

Pre-show: New Age Outlaws d. The Brotherhood to win 6th Tag Team Championship

Bray Wyatt d. Daniel Bryan in a match that got "This is awesome!" and "Holy shit!" chants

Brock Lesnar d. Big Show, hitting him with about 20 chair shots in the process

Randy Orton d. John Cena to retain WWE World Heavyweight Championship with distraction from The Wyatt Family; Wyatts beat up Cena post-match

Batista won Royal Rumble, last eliminating Roman Reigns; Reigns broke Kane's elimination record; Daniel Bryan did not compete.

---

So, wait. Isn't Lesnar competing for the title at Elimination Chamber? Are we actually having a heel/heel title match?

Why the hell have Batista main-event WrestleMania? Why have Bryan not even appear in the match?

I don't get this.

It's interesting in that they managed to kill what was a hot live crowd- twice- in that Rumble. Once they realized that Bryan wasn't in it, they just completely crapped out, and then somehow they lucked into Reigns getting a reaction at the end, and they didn't call an audible.

And I don't get it- they're not beholden to the stip that the winner gets a title shot, they've worked around it before- have Batista win at Elimination Chamber or something, but they could have called the last-minute change, and they would have salvaged a little bit. The live crowd reaction still has to mean *something* at this point...doesn't it?

After the first match, which was great...it stunk. By the end of the Royal Rumble match, I was waiting for the crowd to go NWO-era crowd behavior and start throwing things into the ring.

The other matches were subpar at best.

They should have done better with the surprises (except Nash and Sheamus). At least I saw Rusev for the first time and was impressed a bit for him.

They wasted Rumble spots on Kevin Nash, El Torito, Corporate Kane, some guy from NXT, and JBL. They played Rey Mysterio's promo before the Rumble and I knew he would be #30 as he hasn't appeared yet and I knew the crowd would be pissed. What a waste of Rumble spots.

Kofi's new trick this year was getting thrown into the NXT guy, who placed him on the entrance barricade. Kofi ran down the barricade and hopped all the way to the ring. Pretty cool. Glad he didn't screw that up. Then he had his feet on the bottom rope ensuring he didn't land on the ground and hit Swagger with Swagger's own boot that he pulled off trying to stay in the Rumble. Roman Reigns super threw him over his head and over the ropes and to the ground, though.

The crowd was chanting "Daniel Bryan" during Cena/Orton which was funny. It was pretty cool to see Randy do the STFU (except he did like a headlock/sleeper hold instead of a crossface) and the FU then see Cena do the RKO. The Wyatt interference sucked because now it's confirming the Cena- Bray Wyatt match for Wrestlemania. I'm going to Wrestlemania.

Good first showing from The Bulgarian Fruit.

I have issues with Bryan Danielson going back to 2004 - but even I'm not so daft that I would think that I could ignore what's going on right now. The storyline itself is so easy.

After Dave fails to capture the Rumble, allowing Triple H's worst nightmare to head to Mania with a title shot - in an effort to protect business, Hunter turns to his worst enemy in Brock Lesnar to take the title at Elimination Chamber and ensure no B+ player walks out of Mania with the belt.

I felt it was painfully obvious coming in to the show that the fans would revolt to any non-Bryan winner, but somehow the E was either oblivious to that fact; or so committed to Plan Dave that they couldn't comprehend any other scenario.

I'll be watching with great interest to see how they handle this.

Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt were fantastic and probably everything that a Cena/Wyatt match WON'T be. I give Bray tons of credit for his stamina (given his size) especially in contrast to pretty much zero minutes of wrestling from Lesnar and Big Show.

I enjoyed Cena/Orton, but that was because IJ living and dying with every near Cena pin. The "ref knocked out" spot works GREAT on 11-year olds still. I explained Randy tapping out because he knew he'd blasted Lil' Naitch and he'd get Cena to let him go, but she wasn't having it. I also immensely enjoyed them using each other's finishers, especially if it was because they were trying extra hard (which may not be the case).

I really, really don't get how they didn't put Daniel Bryan into the Rumble. I mean - they play fast and loose with the rules, like Kane coming back and eliminating Punk, which drew a total WTF? from Mrs. JJD because she had Punk in the pool - why not have Bryan take out Rowan before he hit the ring and have Bryan take his spot? (Yes, I know there was a "Shield v Wyatts"-spot in there, but still.) Is WWE thinking they can use a Bryan/WWE title chase to spice up their post-WM30 PPVs?

Dean Ambrose...what were YOU thinking, son? My heart was warm with Roman Reigns-chant fuzzies the last minute or so. (Mrs. JJD thought he was winning it in the end.)

Did Batista look heelish on the ropes after the rumble? Also not a big fan of his new flowery tattoos.

Was surprised Nash didn't pair up with The Shield to go against Punk.

Was very happy to see Ziggler back.

Crowd completely shitting on whatever that was made for some uncomfortably bad television. How can they not understand the difference between a hot crowd utterly into everything (Seattle RAW) and this shit. What they did tonight was bad for Batista, bad for the network, bad possibly even for Bryan. How much longer will this audience hold out for him to be used on top before they just go into fuck it apathy mode? This show made me not want to watch Wrestlemania.

I was there! Made the pilgrimage, saw a Rumble, got my money's worth and civil disobedience fix. I'm actually surprised at how solidly the crowd revolt seems to have translated to TV. Glad to hear it.

When 80% of your audience fancies itself smart, the only true heat is X-Pac heat. Which is fine, as long as the targets of the crowd's wrath are actually capable performers (e.g. Cena). It should be easy to convert that into hot crowds booing your *heels*, not your *matches*. And yet these blockheads ended up with a heel-heel title match and a heel-heel-tweener Rumble finish...

Bryan-Wyatt was a terrific match with a terrific finish. I'm glad it was clean - obviously helps Bray far more than it hurts Bryan.

I agree with everyone who's shocked they didn't call an audible and let Bryan at least enter the Rumble. The spots are clearly transferable - whither Xavier Woods? And just think of the heel heat for whoever got to toss Bryan.

I think they ought to confine their PPVs to backwater towns. Sure, they'd lose a bit of cash from the gate, but at least they'd be more likely to get wholesome, obedient crowds.

I was actually expecting an audible given the awesome negative reaction to Batista. They unfortunately stuck to their guns. But...

And I don't get it- they're not beholden to the stip that the winner gets a title shot, they've worked around it before- have Batista win at Elimination Chamber or something, but they could have called the last-minute change, and they would have salvaged a little bit. ...I'm the eternal optimist. Once the rating came in for last week's Raw, I knew Batista was gonna win. And I was perfectly OK with that, because I knew the Rumble crowd would send the right message. As Alvarez mentioned on Twitter, the live crowd chanted for a wrestler that wasn't ever advertised for the Rumble, and shat all over everything when that un-advertised wrestler didn't participate. If any plans are going to be reshuffled, its going to happen *after* tonight. The Rumble means nothing. They can rewrite anything they want. God bless Pittsburgh*...let's see what happens on Raw.

The thing is, from a personal perspective, it doesn't help that the endings of six of the last seven PPVs left me with a bitter taste or a "I don't give a shit" taste in my mouth. This is pretty much the last time anyone can say "let's wait for the next show."

*And God bless Shapiro and Heims.

Three times really. You could hear the point when the crowd figured out that Kane pulling Punk out of the ring actually counted.

Hi, its me again. It is that time again. The time when I say I told you so. This is an almost weekly thing now for us. So, before you start with the obvious excuse you have been using, No, they don't care about you and our opinions. I mean come on, look at the results. The best tag team they had got beaten by two guys who can almost cash their social security checks. On top of the fact, it was done on the pre-show.

I know..I know..wow, Bryan got a lot out of that fat hillbilly. To bad, he once again looked like a loser for the 100th time since SummerSlam. Don't worry Cena will beat Bray and his entire family in less than 10 minutes at Mania. That match won't be be as good as this one where again I have to tell you, Bryan looked like a moron.

Now, we can skip the rest of the card, because lets face it no one cares about Lesnar anymore and he will be gone the second he loses to Taker. We all think Cena and Orton are boring, but WWE doesn't care as long as Batista main events. You know Batista, the big guy who was only interesting being a heel. Now, because he is going to play fifth alien from the right in a movie that will either do ok at the box office or crash and burn, he gets to go to Mania as the headliner.

You thought, he was going to pay dues. Oh child, that doesn't apply to old guys with some star power not much, I mean but enough. It also doesn't apply to the booker's friends. I mean all these guys need their Wrestlemania paycheck not the every day roster. Those guys don't deserve it.

Now, I know what could you possibly do to stop this? The answer would be nothing. However, this year you can. Want to know how? Good. Don't buy the network. At least not yet. Wait. Wait til after Mania. Get SummerSlan for free as well. If you even care after watching Bryan lose to Sheamus, Cena handily beat the Wyatt family and Taker look old again. That is your call. That is the only way you win now, the network on launch day has to look like Healthcare.gov, even though that is working, no one believes in it. The network has to be a flop. I know, screaming kids or the library or the inner face that keeps telling you that they will change it. Ignore them. Face the reality that WWE is banking all these free goodies will get you to sign up and Manai will do 2 million buys. You want to see Mania, go to a sports bar, go in with a friend to watch or...well have they really earned your money this year? Either way, as irrational as I may sound now, I have been right this entire time. There is no long term plan for Bryan, there never was. They only care about part timers who bring some crossover power to the table. What they don't know is Rock was Rock and Lesnar is damaged goods. Batista was never either of those guys. He is going to call you all names on twitter, ignore him. Fight with your wallet, this is literally your one chance to make the WWE, pay. Good Luck, but I get the feeling we will be here later tonight.

That's maybe the only silver lining to this. The talk after Bryan got screwed at Summerslam was "wait and see what happens, they'll do right by him eventually".
I was in the small minority that did not buy that at all, and I've refused to watch WWE programming since the night after Summerslam as a result. After tonight, hopefully no one else ever gets fooled by the dog and pony show ever again.

While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.
