Don't ever forget that Gary Bettman was working for the NBA when the Knicks landed Patrick Ewing in the very first lottery.

Would he be able to help the game playing in an American market? Is he marketable enough to be trotted out as a savior?

Remember Wayne Gretzky on The Young and the Restless and Saturday Night Live? That's the kind of marketing the NHL is dreaming of, and it certainly wouldn't happen with him on a Canadian franchise, or in Carolina. | Mr. Heat Miser

Somehow, someway, if the lottery were to fall on the Blackhawks getting the #1 pick, they somehow would screw up and not take Crosby. And, if the league is looking for credibility, the Rangers can't get Crosby because all they need after a year off is the cries of "FIXED" coming out. | mountinman44

It wouldn't surprise me at all. Although, I don't know if they want to doom Crosby with a team of underachievers. The year off was the Rangers best season since they won the Cup.

Apparently, this is supposed to be a deep draft, so the "losers" of the Crosby Sweepstakes will still find something good. Also, whoever lands Crosby will have to wait awhile....their next pick will be #60.

If the Hawks got the #1 pick they would trade it away for a late round pick in 2012. He would then laugh right in the faces of everyone who still buys Hawks tickets, kick them in the junk and say "I can do ANYTHING to you people, and you'll never stop giving me your cash. LOSERS!"

I did not have any lawyers present, but my selection for the #1 draft pick is the San Jose Sharks. | mountinman44
