* Did anyone think that there was a surreal stretch about a third of the way in the show? We get a skit with Goldust and Booker T, which leads to Coach saying, "Well, now that we've seen those two, let's check in on Molly..". Then when *that* skit ends, we cut to the Big Show laughing about having watched it on TV. I was getting some "Monty Python's Flying Circus" vibes there.

* Interesting part about the mixed tag match: Lawler was talking about creating a 'Molly's got a fatass' chant.. but did you hear the crowd? I swear that we got a 'Let's go, Molly' chant going instead.
* Did you notice that during the NwO beatdown of Booker and Goldust, Kevin Nash was holding back - pulling away XPac as if to say, "Hey, now, that's enough." and generally looking kind of reluctant in there. A subtle clue to a possible face turn by Nash?

The only chant I heard during the women's wrestling was the obligatory "We want puppies" chant.

Nash turning face. Man, and I thought the people who said the nWo was going to turn face were out of their minds, knowing that they were going to expell Booker. They'd have to get rid of X-Pac though. He's the only one who has no chance of making it as a face.

Nash turn face? Only if he likes being pushed farther down the mid-card.

Think there will be a Booker/Goldust versus Nash or X-Pac or Well it's the Big Sloowwww match at KOTR?

I thought there was a shortage of faces. If so wouldn't he be better off (higher on the card) as a face?

I did expect a Booker vs nWo match, so I was surprised when they didn't announce one. X-Pac HAS to be in that match, since Booker was the one who cost him in his match. And I don't think Nash is completely healed yet, so I'd expect it to be the Big Show.

I have to give props to X-Pac for his work in his match against RVD. I think they messed pretty well. RVD wrestles like X-Pac did back in Global and his early-WWF days. It was sweet seeing him bust out the Somersault Plancha.

That 'molly is a fatass' thing really pissed me off. Lawler needs to just shut his damn mouth during those women matches, that jackass. Does the WWE really think all the fans just want generic porn chicks on their TV? If so, I really think they have no understanding of their target audience whatsoever (or maybe I'm just overestimating my peers). The whole women's division is going down the tubes, it's really disappointing.

Some of the in ring promos seemed to drag... to me it felt like eddie had flair in the figure four for an eternity, and the whole flair/eddie/benoit thing was so forced.

I think RVD and X Pac came up with a whole bunch of great stuff, a nice batch of innovative counters. Their chemistry makes sense, they're both 'smaller' guys, they both like the ganja and they're both great in the ring. Plus RVD has natural face heat and X Pac has his legendary 'get off my TV' heel heat.

I like the jeff hardy semi-push, although it looks like he's being shunted off into a raven feud, it's nice to see the guy get some high profile matches.

And booker is pure gold, i love when he says 'can you dig that'... and then pops back in to say 'SUCKA!' 30 seconds later. It'd rule if each time he waited a little longer, like maybe at the very beginning of the show say 'can you dig that' and then before the main event pop in on the guy again and go 'SUCKA' out of nowhere.

And I already whined about the rock thing in the other thread, so I'll spare you all from the regurgitation.

X-Pac was the only WWF guy who couldn't get any face heat during the Invasion thing.

--Please, please Lawler lead those "Molly is a fat ass" chants at KOTR. It has been a while since I've have seen a death in the ring, or outside of it. When Molly slammed Trish to the announce table, that sure shut Lawler up quick. Yes, Molly rules!

--D'Lo Brown squashed Crash Holly again. He is looking at lot better.

--Ha!! UT can't take on one Hardy alone, let alone both, so he needed Raven. UT, go and fly with him.

--That was by far Benoit's best promo ever, and yet there was no crowd response. Damn.

--If there's any doubt that Michaels killed the nWo, the fact that Brock stared down at all four of them should leave no doubt. You kicked Booker out because he was all about himself, look at what replaced him. Lucky for the nWo that Heyman pulled him back.

Mah thoughts:
  • I always find it strange when they start with a match. It could be that I'm just used to them starting with the talking stuff... or it's the fact that xpac was in a good match that threw me for a loop.
  • Vince's speach was surreal.
  • The Flair/Eddie/Benoit promo ruled. I really, really enjoyed Benoit.
  • the Raven/Jeff Hardy match was pretty spiffy. It was odd seeing jeff without his hair dyed a wacky colour. And when he did the "run on the barricade and kick Raven" bit, the guy standing right in the bloody corner of the barricade looked really, really dumb.
  • Taker/matt hardy was alright for what it was.
  • The string of backstage bits was really, really cool. I laughed when Molly threw that thigh master, pretending that it didn't ever exist. Oh, and her slapping coach was pure gold. Then having big show laughing at that... it was just spiffy to the extreme.
  • Mah brain is farting. I found that, as a whole, the show was damned good. but the "Austin is coming!" thing irked me a tad.

Given the amount of things they could've done (like mention the whol eissue with the police), I thought it was handled with class.

And anytime you can get Chris Harvard out there kicking ass, you know it's a good show.

Chris Harvard WAS solid and if people can bypass all the "didnt pay dues" crap that entertainment fans arent even supposed to know about, than they would see him as the physically impressive natural heel that he is. I mean watch the guy walk to the ring. His mere prescence is more "heelish" than half the heels in WWE and he has a certain something that you just can't teach. I think the sky is the limit for him and Maven and as a guy in his early 20's it's cool to see other guys my age on the show rather than 30+ competitors dominating.

The other big thing I took away from raw was how RIDICULOUSLY over Booker T has become. As much as people complain about goldust, he is working as one hell of a foil for Booker T and making for some damn entertaining television. Booker's pre-spin hand gesture got the biggest pop of the night before the Rock returned and the guy is getting damn close tp breaking into the main event.

Yeah... I thought he had a great debut. Of course, I thought he showed some great intensity... just wait until they come to New Haven. They HAVE to put Chris somewhere on the card there... wait and see what happens.

Doesn't it feel REALLY REALLY good to say that?

I've never watched Tough Enough, but after seeing Chris tonight and Maven since whenever, how the hell did the latter win? Chris just embodies his gimmick so perfectly, like a less amazingly talented Angle.

D'Lo's on RAW? Raven wrestles on RAW? Is it raining frogs anywhere nearby? Of course it's not a D'Lo match without the "point to the sides and head wag" leg drop, and it's not a Raven angle without a vaguely homoerotic bondage encounter. Jeff turns on Matt and become's Raven's lackey for a few months? Yes. They should turn Christian back into a vampire just to complete the creepy subculture set.

Booker T vs. Brock Lesnar in what was essentially the main event? Cool and the gang. Booker's overness happened so damn gradually and subtley you'd barely notice it if you weren't looking. Shame Nash is still injured, now would be the time to put Booker over him. Maybe he'll get a match with Micheals sometime in the next couple months. Wouldn't that rock the casbah?

Given the spread we've got Jericho, Brock, or RVD headlining Judgement Day, barring some sort of Rockterference in the #1 contendership. I think Jericho can be ruled out for the most part, since he's not really "fresh" at this point, and Vince'll want to make a statement and give someone sort of brand new a shot. Brock most likely, but that'll kind of suck because it'll mean he loses to face HHH, which means we get at least two more months of HHH as a face, and risk killing Lesnar's momentum in the process. Lesnar better not win the belt, I like him but there are safer choices for the new "fresh face" champion at this point. So hopefully it'll be RVD facing either Taker or heel HHH. Either should be good, and I'd even give Rob a slim chance of winning the damn thing in an effort to ressurect the WWE's shock value.

Is it just me or did Jeff Hardy look like a woman with that hair colour (please note I didn't have my glasses on at the time).
