On today's episode of The Price is Right, a woman won both showcases with a bid of $15,000. The retail price of her showcase was $15,247.

I feel like I remember about 10+ years ago, the double showcase winner rule was "be within $1,000 of your showcase without going over." More recently, I thought the rule had changed to "be within $100 of your showcase without going over." However, if that's the case, then they must have change the rule again for this woman to win both showcases.

Anybody know the current rule and/or its history?

To elaborate on Fearless Leader's post:

If the two contestants are exactly the same distance from the actual prices (in other words, if there is a tie) without going over, each wins his own showcase; this has happened exactly once in the show's history. If there is a tie where the differences are within the Double Showcase range, both contestants win both showcases; this has never happened.

(I had already looked it up and was about to post when I saw HIS post....)

A remarkable end to a remarkable show. I'm really going to miss watching The Shield, and even miss the interminable wait for the next season. I loved that it wrapped up almost every loose end out there, but still left you wondering about a few things.
