Man, and people say golf isn't exciting. Holy crow, that was some good action. It kinda sucks that they had to end in a draw, but it was great sportsmanship all around.
If I had my way, Nicklaus and Player would go eighteen holes to decide the winner, but I guess a tie will do.
Let's put this in the plainest terms possible: Darryl Strawberry has no business instructing anybody about anything. He has never done a thing in his life to warrant a position of guidance. Not on the field. Not off the field.-- David Vescey, si.com
Kenny Perry really established (maybe I should say 'cemented') himself, IMO(he's a few years older than me, but we went to the same high school and the first person to give me golf lessons also gave Perry lessons years ago, so I have always followed him). 4-1 isn't too shabby at all.
I agree with Chuck, Phil does need to find his game. A couple of years ago I felt that maybe he was no longer the "best player to have never won a major", hopefully he can revitalize his game and come back in '04 and maybe even knock off that pesky major.
While I do agree that the tie sucks, I do feel that the sportsmanship that is behind it embodies what golf, and all other sports, should be.
Actually, here's the pattern of NBC for Deal: Saturday nights at 8p Central Saturday nights at 7p Central (IMO, the best slot, because you'd get game leading out of game and Saturday night is a "safe" bet) Tuesday nights at 7p Central.
