This movie was pretty funny. They threw so many jokes at you that I couldn't helping laughing many times. Will Ferrell was great and Wahlberg wasn't that bad either. The movie was a bit overstuffed but I didn't mind.

Mild Recommendation, and miles better than Dinner For Schmucks (if you happen to be deciding which of the two to see).

Quite amusing, this. Best Ferrell vehicle in years.

A lot more structured than all the other Will/Adam McKay movies, with, like, a real plot instead of the customary barest of narratives for digressions. They found time for the digressions too, though -- tuna vs. lion bit is some of the best improv WF has done in his life.

I was dubious on Mark Wahlberg going in but he was splendid in self-parody, in full-on "say hi to your mother for me" mode. I should've given him more benefit of the doubt since I forgot that the singular moment in I <3 Huckabees where he says "I'm at the fire" which was incredibly funny and basically the only worthwhile thing in that movie.

I really want to see the Rock and Samuel L. Jackson action movie that predates this film. They were note-perfect in that opening sequence. I was kind of sad when I read that the Big Rig and Damon Wayans #2 were the Other Guys' foils in this since I disappointingly realized going in that

Rock and Jackson were probably just early cameos and probably doomed, hilariously doomed.

Also, Michael Keaton getting to be funny again for the first time since, what, that movie with his clones? The time he spoke at the Pirates' home opener?

And yes, way, way more return on investment than Dinner For Schmucks.

This was exactly the decision a friend and I were trying to make last night, and another friend who had seen both also said The Other Guys was much better, so that's where we went. I was happy with the decision, I thought this movie was hilarious. I didn't really know much about it beforehand, so I was disappointed to see Jackson and Johnson play such prominent roles in the beginning, but the focus shifts from them to Ferrell and Wahlberg pretty quickly and then it's hilarity from there.

I loved Will Ferrell's character's long line of smoking hot girlfriends and Wahlberg's disbelief, though the dialogue between Ferrell and his wife was laying it on a little thick at times. The succession of weapons for Ferrell is pretty funny too.

All around, a great Will Ferrell movie, in my opinion. I'd put it in the top three of movies in which he has had a lead role.

Good to see you made the right choice. The actual dinner part of the Dinner For Schmucks movie was really funny, but the hour or so that preceeded it was dreadful. Not even one half of the Flight of the Concords could save that film.

The last scene for Rock and SLJ in The Other Guys was really funny, along with Will Ferrell's comment on it later.

Got to see this tonight and really enjoyed it. Funny from start to finish as opposed to "Dinner For Schmucks" which was funny in bits and pieces once it got going.

I will say that I probably got a few more "belly laughs" out of DFS than TOG, but give the nod to TOG overall for the aforementioned funny from beginning to end, more laughs overall, and I can only imagine that it will get even funnier on repeat viewings as little "throwaway lines" become part of the lexicon, (too many to remember, but the last one that stuck with me was "Hope you like prison food, and penis")and I can't see watching DFS all the way through again unless I'm watching it with my wife when it hits HBO.

Great seeing Michael Keaton be funny again. It's been waaaay too long. If you've never seen "Night Shift" you really owe it to yourself to watch it. Some funny, funny stuff there, and very reminiscent of Will Ferrell's "Gator" character here.

And speaking of Gator and "Pimps Don't Cry" stay thru the closing credits to hear the actual song and a very short "outtake" from the Chinese restaurant scene. Another reason to look forward to the eventual DVD on this one as you know they should have a TON of these.

YES said Derek Jeter was in the movie (his cameo was okay, especially considering every line was pure Farrell), but the photos they showed were him as a homeless guy. If you've seen the movie, put two and two together yourself; that's what I await.

The sequence when Farrell and Wahlberg first go out on a call was priceless. Michael Keaton was great.

I concur with "mild recommendation". You ever hear a guy tell a joke, get a laugh and then decide the best way to follow up the joke he just told was to tell it again? That's The Other Guys.

Finally saw it, last night. It was pretty good. I died during the Gator parts. Keaton being funny is a total win for me. Ferrell and Marky Mark had some good interplay as well. At least, I know what a Soup Kitchen is now. I thought it was as good if not better then Get him to the Greek. I would also like to see Rock and Samuel L. Jackson in a prequel of this since the limited screen time they got, they tore it up.

I don't see how they couldn't. I actually like Britney (Yeah, that's right, I said it. You wanna fight about it?) but I couldn't stand to watch more than 5 minutes of it before I got bored and started playing Warcraft 3 again.
