They booed Rock! Unfuckingbelievable! And, yet again he went with it. Rock acted like a heel and I loved it!
Michaels/HHH was awesome. I honestly didn't think they'd be able to keep me after it, but they did.
Angle/Rey. It started it off and was basically off the page.
Best pay per view I've seen in awhile. A long while. I'm STILL in shock. What an emotional pay per view.

| #4 Posted on 25.8.02 2155.41 | SUMMERSLAM WAS FANTASTIC!!!! I now officially love the Nassau Coliseum, they couldn't have been any better of a crowd.
ALL of the undercard was executed to a tee, especially the tag-team championship match. Eddy was awesome as the psycho arm killer, Mysterio the plucky cruiser, and hell even Taker wasn't that bad. Hell, the guy JUMPED! When did that happen last? He was moving!
...the last two matches. Holy shit. I was all ready to give MOTY to HHH/HBK after seeing the unbelieveable story they laid out for us. They drew me IN, and that hadn't happen in a long time. I was pumped after that match, excited, enthralled. Trips has more than proven himself to me, and should have to all of you naysaying little shits. Shawn definitely had some surprises left for us, my eyes were BUGGED when he pulled that sweet crucifix sliding pin manuever.
But, Rock/Brock. Now, everyone knows I hate the living shit out of the Rock, so this match was INCREDIBLE. You've got heel heat against the Rock, coming from an awesome crowd, you've got Brock bringing his A-game (although no Shooting Star yet, sadly), and you've got the Rock DYING CLEANLY TO THE F-5. Simply amazing, and the crowd brought you through it all. Summerslam rocked. I loved this show. I will be in shock for weeks to come, whether RAW tanks hard or not. This was just amazing!

| #8 Posted on 25.8.02 2159.26 | Hey deadbeater, how about it was a GODDAMNED RETURN TO THE DICK CHARACTER HHH THAT WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE?!?!? Christ. I guess there will always be thick-headed smarks just waiting to crucify Levesque. He was MAKING THE STORY THAT MUCH BETTER. He was giving 110%, he was cementing his return to the good ol' Triple H heel, the no-nonsense dick who'll sledge you and slink by. And what, no props for the Flair flip? You people are ingrateful.

Last match. Period. Shawn is leaving ("That's it!" from Michaels after the match), Triple H stays. And the match was on par with HHH's work with Foley and Vince streetfight matches. In summation, not to hate, but get over it loser. Take off your shades because the mark is starting to show, along with the egg running down your face. Good booking all around.

Calling the guy "the me-first dick cancer we all know and hate" isn't hating the character HHH, it's hating the internet version of HHH.

| #14 Posted on 25.8.02 2220.26 | I have to tell you, I felt like it was 1997 all over again with HBK/HHH. I was completely surprised by the moves he pulled off, especially the crucifix into the pin, just awesome!! All of the bumps were pretty good, I didn't care. Anyone else think HHH looked weird with the clean shave???
Rock/Brock, what i expected except the crowd. I loved it! Awesome show!! Good things coming!!!!!!!

"not to hate"?
Here, keep focused on one of the best PPVs in a long, long time and don't bury the excitement in a heap of bitter HHH advocacy (you too, BoromirMark.)
People here can appreciate just fine when HHH does good work and when he does, nobody considers it a reason to be embarassed. We're aware that he's not, say, Barry Horowitz in the ring. It's his stage behaviour (basically, behaving like an SI character in a fanfiction) that people dislike.

| #17 Posted on 25.8.02 2226.12 | Wow. Just... wow. The first four matches were worth my $35. And HHH/HBK was completely out of this world. I'm not a big fan of either of them, personally, but they were awesome.
What a great night of wrestling. They really seemed to focus more on the submission style tonight and the matches were a lot longer. Would've liked to have seen a few more backstage skits not involving Steph, but that's a minor complaint.
My favorite moment of the night.. RVD doing the double thumbs, flat on his back... ha ha!!

| #18 Posted on 25.8.02 2228.49 | As far as Taker goes, a LEAPFROG? Followed by a HIP TOSS?! And the TOMBSTONE?!
Undertaker rules!
And I'll agree that SummerSlam is so far the event of the year, aside from WrestleMania. Every match on the card was at the least good, and each match also served it's purpose. I still can't believe the crowd tonight, but what the hell? I wasn't too much into the HHH/Michaels match prior to the event, but MAN did they rock! Wow, Hunter JOBBED!
And another interesting thing to note, although it's probably entirely coincidental, neither Rock nor HHH had their customary entrances tonight, and they LOST. Come to think of it, ditto for Rey Rey. Hmmmmm...
Match of the night--HHH/HBK, Rock/Brock (tie).
And one more thing-- as far as Brock being the new champ? Kayfabe-wise, He SUCKS. And speaking of how Brock sucks, in terms of WHAT he sucks, his name rhymes with another word that comes to mind, but I'm sure one can put 2 and 2 together. (I said KAYFABE WISE. Garshk. Long post. sorry.)

| #19 Posted on 25.8.02 2229.14 | It seemed as though Shawn Micheals was using this match to demonstrate to everyone that his back *was* A-Ok - using kippups, ladder topes, etc. Kind of ironic considering the career-injury job he did at the end.
At the sports bar I was watching, we were having some amusing problems with the signal. At certain times in the HHH/HBK match and the Rock/Brock match, the screen would freeze, and we'd waste 3 or 4 minutes getting the signal back. While watching, i) The signal returned right when Shawn was about to elbow drop off the ladder; ii) The signal froze right after the second blow from HHH's sledgehammer after the match; iii) The signal returned to show Shawn Micheals tucked away in the stretcher, and iv) The signal froze right when Rock held up his hand on the 3rd try, during the bear hug. Everybody loved it :) | Mr Heel II

| #20 Posted on 25.8.02 2232.42 | I for one was glad to see all the recognition the Long Island Pork Council got throughout the show. Sarcasm aside, WHO MAKES A SIGN THAT SAYS "PORK"?!?
I thought it was a terrible shame that the whole card had to follow Angle/Mysterio. How do you live up to that? What an awesome match.
HBK/HHH was about ten thousand times better than I expected it to be. Everybody in the room was into it.
Tazz's response to Cole's comment that Heyman would be a millionaire if Lesnar won..."I hope he IS a millionaire because he owes a lot of people a lot of money." BAM!
I was completely baffled by that crowd chanting "Rocky Sucks" and "Let's Go Lesnar". Did somebody put together a bunch of tour packages from South Dakota and Minnesota? That was like watching a Nebraska away game.
Clearly nobody was surprised by the end result of the Lesnar/Rock match, but it was a great match. The build to it was my favorite in a long time, and they lived up to it.
You KNOW when you have a match like RVD/Benoit on the card, and people aren't talking about it as much as the main event(s), that it was a hell of a show.
I only have two negatives...Steph and Bischoff was completely pointless (except maybe to give them camera time and tease another potential defection...in the form of Steph's evil laugh after the RVD victory...)
The other thing...Kane. Two weeks of Kane teasers and NOTHING during the PPV?!? They could have at least repeated the Mon/Thu teaser...
Nonetheless, it was a truly stellar effort.
