Wow ... this show really keeps pushing the limits on TV ... I lost it as soon as I saw David Koechner (or as I had to explain to my wife, "Champ" from Anchorman). I'm hoping that he has a recurring role on the show.

For me it was Dwight's question for the HR guy.
"You said I could come to you with questions. Where is the clitoris? On a website it said on the crest of the labia. What does that mean?"

And Jim baiting into doing the "that's what she said" joke at the end was very good too.

Very, very funny. I laughed out loud several times. Pretty edgy for prime time network, wonder if they got any complaints. This is the best one since "Diversity Day".
I love Mike's little hip-hop sayings and his quote, "If it was appropriate, it wouldn't be a joke".
Is Jim the same actor? He looks different.

I've been saying the only thing this show still needed was a "Finchy" character and he (finally) showed up and is David Koechner to boot!

Seriously, not only was this the funniest episode of the US series thusfar (only "Basketball" comes close), but this was at least on par with most of the British series. NBC really oughta move this, "My Name Is Earl" and "Scrubs" to Thursday and rebuild Must See TV.

That would be a great move on NBCs part and it would be the only way to get me to switch off from CSI. What other show would you put with them though? Joey at 8 pm and hope that you can land some viewers that would follow Earl to Thursday?

I didn't find the episode very funny last night, despite wanting to laugh. The only times I really laughed was Dwight asking the HR guy and that woman asking if one night stands counted as inter-office relationships.

Pam's "He said what?" stinger at the end was great.

Last night's episode was another home run. Earl was pretty damn good too before it with the crazy guy from Prison Break looking down his shirt at his Jesus chest tattoo and asking it, "What would you do?"

This is sort of off topic but Ricky Gervais said on Conan a week ago that MASH was shown in the UK without a laugh track and it was way better than the canned laughter version.

Last night's episode was really good; I quite enjoyed it. I wonder if Pam's mom is trying to play matchmaker with Pam and Jim...with the "is that the guy?" comment.

I hope this season is longer than the last one.

Unfortunately, the ratings most likely say "no." Now -- that's not to say it will be longer than a six-episode order, but when Earl and SVU are doing OK and The Office isn't, that's not a good sign.

Great episode. The look on Jim's face when Meredith (was it?) asked about one-night stands in the office was priceless. I also think Michael being the "king of forwards" fits right in to his personality- he thinks its cool, but no one reads them of course.

The Futon Critic sez that NBC ordered 13 episodes.

And to clarify Freeway as well as stand corrected myself, Cynopsis reported this morning that NBC gave a full-season order for the other seven episodes (therefore 13).

Good to see them stick by the show. My concern, as said, is that you have two shows that are doing 8.5 or better, and then have Office languishing around 5.5 or so.

Hopefully the same thing that got its renewal last year will continue keep it going. Surveys showed that the smaller amount of people who watch The Office are also of an above average disposable income, so they're the most desirable demographic for advertisers. Think of it as an inverse of pro wrestling's ad rates. In fact, think of The Office as the Westminster Dog Show.

In a sense, he already has, my friend, and not just because his British equivalent Chris Finch was a recurrer. Todd Packer (assumedly different voiced) made inappropriate comments about Jan on speakerphone during during the pilot, and Michael also mentioned his name during the basketball episode, telling Dwight he can't play because "you embarrassed me in front of Todd Packer."
